Ignoring the _ model works for _ faction stuff... Mist speaker: guidance is now friendly (as opposed to faction) Longchops: Headshot/trapper interaction fixed Croak hunter: Cost 3. Mat 6. Gang fighter. Loses poison. Gains weaken (-2 str, def) on its spears. Lynus & Edrea: Lynus gets first aid (heal d3). Edrea trades arcane bolt for wind burst (rng10, aoe4, pow 12. Cloud effects touching the AOE expire) Crocpot: can now gather non-faction corpses and share to friendly models. Dracodile: Arm 20!

I am going to hop in here and say that I really like the sound of those changes. Drag being Arm20 is super nice, the changes to Linus and Edrea actually super makes me want to play them, especially in some of my gun line lists to deal with cloud walls, and weaken takes to croak hunter away from a combat solo into utility removing his direct comparison to the TH.

Really hoping they can see their way to weaken working on jacks. Would hit both the hunters and river raiders with one stone.

They seem pretty hellbent on not having much in Blindwater work on warjacks.

I think I figured out why Minions aren't allowed to have nice things if the Dev Talk means anything at all.

Am I the only one who sees weaken on the croak hunter and immediately goes "meh" and decides to shelf said hunter? I mean... in order to apply it... he has to hit it first... and rat 6 kinda means he isn't hitting anything that needs to be weakened... I mean... it's kinda "meh" right? Why use the points?

Because weaken is a bonus ability he has which he *might* use. He's a 3 point harassment solo. I would use him from time to time in this form, never as he was before.

Why use the points? 72% to hit Def 12. He helps with the piece trade. Also gunlines. And as a solo he goes in WWFF, Trappers do not.

Weaken is the sort of anti-hordes ability that'd be great game design if effects that skew the same direction weren't already so damn prevalent in minions. The hunter can perform its harrassing job, but gets a little boost against hordes. However with so many other effects in minions that are hot vs hordes and cold vs warmachine, it start to become an issue for both balance and fun. For instance I've stopped using my Azahul of bone grinders since they're too binary; too weak against WM for competitive play but too tilting against some hordes lists to bring to random casual nights. If we had a lot more options like the thrullg and gremlins then I'd be quite happy to get this ability on the croak hunter. As it is, my first reaction is "Really?"

But we max out at 2 free thrullgs and 6pts of gremlins. What we really need is more ways to fill the points. Some pig solo that's stolen a cygnaran gun that causes stall. Find some way to work in a unit with dismantle (which also sounds more like a pig thing to me given their fluff emphasis on robbing trains). If we're getting really crazy, maybe even something that causes cortex damage like the lancers' shield.
