Wow, I did not think that this theme would open up so much. With allowing infinite numbers of minion models (other than solos), including beasts, to work under our paingiver warlocks, it opens up a full new dimension of ideas. It does limit a bit with how much skorne infantry is cut off, yet our favored solos are the ones we get to keep using under theme!
I was trying to come up with a solid Disciples of Agony list when I ran into a rather odd problem... there are so many possible combinations now that minion beasts can be fed to the qualifying warlocks that it opens up so many new ideas. Some examples I came up with would be using splatter boar's lucky shot through our warlock onto the mammoth or cannoneer, blackhide wrastler's +3 str on the bronzeback for overkill or on something like the savage for cracking armor, blind walker is now an arc node for our warlock, boneswarm's swarm on Morg2 makes him able to be played more boldly (18 def), Road Hog's Lightning Strike means you don't NEED an archidon for some of the tricky yo-yo plays, Swamp Horror means Gladiator and Bronzeback have a 2 inch range x.x
So, what ideas are running through your head? What lists are you thinking up? I already know I'm retooling my morg2 assassination list to play into this. I can see a lot of clearing potential, which will allow me to not be so timid in my assassination attempts. Using Gatorman Bokor & squad for sac pawns will allow me to easily go bold or go home.

You covered at least one that I want to field, it's in another thread about the Mammoth. Lucky Shot+Mammoth is good, I think with Morghoul2 and Blind it can be great. I've got that with a double unit of Brigands+UA and some PGMT I want to put out, soon as I buy and paint the Pigs.
Naaresh with Archidons and Razor Wurms, backed by a pair of Shamans and a Battle Boar. Pass out Primal as needed, and make cheap fire and forget missiles with Sprint actions to get anywhere and caused chaos. Not sure how effective it will be (need to buy more Archidons and Razor Wurms, in a no proxy meta) but I think it sounds super fun.
Of course, Blindwalker is what can make Xekaar work. I'm curious to see what a Basilisk Spam with Chiron, and the Shaman+Battle Boar package can do. Plenty of Magical sprays and zaps sounds good, and an Enraged, Primaled, and flanking against a potentially Mortality struck target sounds like it can wreck any heavy on the cheap.

All this talk about lucky shot+mammoth has me wanting to buy all the minions. Do we have any way of gaining ancillary shot? Mortitheurge used to have it, any minions have it?

It's not possible for the mammoth to access. Targ is one of three models left in the game with that ability and technically works for Skorne, but only in 2 warlock games as he needs to attach to a minion warlock. Ancillary would still be friendly faction [minion] so no interaction with Skorne models.

yeah, that's the reason why the lucky shot + mammoth needs to be used by a faction warlock in Disciples of Agony in order to make it work. The moment the model is no longer in a Skorne warlock's battlegroup it becomes inaccessible.

I am confused why you need the warlock to cast the animus. Or do I not understand what you are doing here?

A splatter boar in DoA can cast lucky shot on a Mammoth because the theme makes minion beasts skorne as their faction.
Targ is not a beast, and so isn't turned into skorne as his faction. Even if you could take him, he couldn't ancillary a beast because the minoin beast would no longer be minion. It would be skorne.

ah, I just missed that part of the benefit x.O; I did not know that they completely switch factions and thought they only turned friendly and could be in battlegroup. That does mean that the cyclops shaman can cast their animi though, which is a big plus.

Fun Fact: Lucky Shot is FF Model, not Warbeast. The Mammoth is the best target for it in faction, but a Cannoneer or Sentinel can benefit from it as well, or an Ironback, Croak Raider, or even a Razorback Crew if you like. I'm sure there's more allowed in theme. Although if you do apply to a Cannoneer, you're not getting Snipe, so it's of less worth.

You can't apply it to any of the minion warrior models you mentioned because they won't be FF to the splatter boar anymore. Sorry.

Kind of new to WarmaHordes here so maybe this is obvious, but I was wondering why there is no talk about the Wrastler's Rage? Is it just cause the Battle Boar is cheaper or is primal that much better?

No, the wrastler and his Animus a a big part of the excitement for the theme. It's just in this one small thread he hasn't been mentioned yet

Cool, I want to collect gatormen, but not farrow. Seems like an army with only Xekaar, Beast Handlers, and gatorman warbeast and units could really work. Especially once the Dracodile is released. I'm considering a double colossal list with a Dracodile and a Hydra.

Is it just cause the Battle Boar is cheaper or is primal that much better? There was quite a bit of talk about rage during the CID; it's even in the OP. This forum is just kinda quiet about DoA in general. If you're wanting to run those gargants definitely go with the wrastler. You don't want those things frenzying and they can survive a turn. With any really durable list list like anything involving a gargantuan or blindwalkers/rhinodons+aggy (say under xekaar with feat and psycho surgery to keep them alive) there's a good reason to bring rage so anything that survives is fully functioning. The battle boar probably will be preferred in lists that spam cheap beasts: -Light beasts, archidons, etc tend to die the turn after you send them in anyway so the auto frenzy from primal is less relevant. -unless the caster can easily hit-fix, the +2 mat often outweighs the loss of 1 pow. Most minions are mat6. Blindwalkers are mat5... -In a a cheap-beast list you usually want to cast the damage animus multiple times per turn. 2x battleboar (14) or battleboar+shaman (15) is far cheaper than a wrastler and shaman (24).
