Hello everyone I have a two list masters tournament coming up in early November and I'm trying to decide on two ADR caster/lists to practice and take. Unless you have a great reason, assume I don't want to take Kozlov but I have all the casters on the ADR (Kozlov, Zerkova1, Strakov2 & Irusk2). Presently I'm thinking of Irusk2 Jaws and Zerk1 or Strak1 LoS. What if anything have you guys been building in your lists? I'll try make good use of the specialists/vanguard.. does anyone know how specialists works with Theme/free models? Thanks in advance!

i dont know about vanguard and specialist but with jaw dont dismis kozlov too fast, if u run it with alot of jack pathfinder on all of them, no KD, fury reposition speed and armor buff on feat turn seem quit good to me. with legion of steel strakhov and irusk are awesome and zerkova can be quite good too but she is not the best imo not enought damage buff or utility beside of the cloud.

Aren't StrakII, IruskII, and Zerkova all infantry casters? Maybe Kozlov would be worth taking for running a bit heavier on warjacks? I have not played with any of those casters so I don't really know.

i have, zerkova is not really a jack or infantry caster since she doesn buff nothing and ghost walk buff everything. irusk is more for attrition since he can keep his troop alive and even buff them, strakhov is more i put everything in your face now try to wwin on scenario and his buff are upkeep only feat aside

Since it's November then mow list should be available. Mow list has access to 1 merc solo and 1 merc unit that you can switch in&out.
For example: Z1 -2x Destroyer 2x Seer 2x Drakhun 2x shockies+ua 2x kovnik Leaves us with 13 points that can be switched for: jack, Ragman/Gorman+something (mechs?), A&H&V. Something like Seer can be dropped from base list to free slighlty more points to play around.
I'd consider Z1,Strakhov2 or I2 for mow theme. Strakhov2 and I2 lock you into having Saxon as your merc solo though.
Good second list candidates are I2 wgk or Strakhov2 LegoS. There will be less switch possibilities there. I think the only ones possible are: -Spriggan in wgk fro stealth removal -Uhlans/pikes or unit over 60pt for 1 jack in LegoS Assuming they don't get mercs. If they do get mercs wgk becomes just amazing pair since you can A&H&V and Reinholdt there for any matchup.
Now if mow theme won't be available the only way to get magical weapons is playing Jaws for Seer marshalling. I2 can do it with kayazy.
I don't like Kozlov at all either though some people apparently won something with him.

dont dismis kozlov too fast I played him 3 times in the jorneyman league we did at the beginning of MK3 and then one just the other day. Always found him boring to play but the other comments RE being a Jack caster has me thinking. Thanks everybody. [I'll update this later with a Irusk2 list I played and my thoughts] conflictchamber.com/#c3201b_-0x797w7q0dhF7phF8A8B8G8G8eKhador Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Jaws of the Wolf (Irusk 2) Supreme Kommandant Irusk [+27] - Behemoth [25] - Devastator [14] - Juggernaut [12] Greylord Forge Seer [0(4)] - Destroyer [14] Greylord Forge Seer [0(4)] Kayazy Assassins (max) [15] - Kayazy Assassin Underboss [4] Kayazy Eliminators [5] Kayazy Eliminators [5] Widowmaker Scouts [8] This is the terrible list I brought. I played into Rashet Winds of Death. Lost Top of 4 to assassination but I'd lost prior to that due to subpar list building and deployment. I should have played my LoS list into Skorne but I didn't have the models at the time so yeah. What I think I'll end up doing is a 'more kayazy' version with Irusk2 JotW something like this.. conflictchamber.com/#c3201b_-0x790d7teYhF7phF8A8B8A8B8G8eKhador Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Jaws of the Wolf (Irusk 2) Supreme Kommandant Irusk [+27] - Juggernaut [12] - Marauder [10] - Rager [11] Greylord Forge Seer [0(4)] - Destroyer [14] Greylord Forge Seer [4] Kayazy Assassins (max) [15] - Kayazy Assassin Underboss [4] Kayazy Assassins (max) [15] - Kayazy Assassin Underboss [4] Kayazy Eliminators [5] Widowmaker Scouts [8] I'll need to borrow the second full Assassins but to quote my opponent "dealing with 22 stealth, tough no kd immune to blast Kayazy is much harder than 11"

I really don't see how Kozlov can end up being a jack caster, he only has his feat to speed up his jacks, and with 3 upkeeps I don't think he has enough focus to run a heavy battlegroup. Our ADR this season is kinda weird with all the casters being our best Legion of Steel and crappy jack casters. I would go with Strakhov2 in legion of steel and either Irusk2 in Jaw of the wolf with a kayazy heavy build or Zerkova1 in winterguard kommand. I did run this once in a champion, losing against grymkin because we currently have no real way to deal with incorporeal in theme, especially in a champion format. Otherwise the pairing worked well enough, Winterguard infantry do love ghost walk and the battle engine is legit.

I have an upcoming champions format tournament (also in November ), and am mulling the same thing over myself. None of the casters in this ADR strike me as particularly jack happy, and I am not LOS's biggest fan. The best answer I have come up with is to play Irusk 2 or Strakhov 2 in the upcoming MOW theme (assuming it is released on time), both of them have some interesting things to offer this theme on paper - and I already have all the models. Z1 is being looked at as the other caster in the pairing - either with the upcoming greylord theme, the winterguard theme (with dual battle engines!), or out of theme. Kozlov might be interesting, but I can't really figure out what he wants to be built with... Mow maybe?

None of the casters in this ADR strike me as particularly jack happy Probably true, but: 1 - Kozlov likes quite balanced lists, which makes him jack-happier, at least compared to Irusk2 and Strakhov2. I wouldn't have a problem taking 3+ jacks with Kozlov, provided one or two of them are relatively light on focus needs (Marauders or Kodiaks, possibly a Devastator). Of available themes, I could also see Kozlov in the MoW theme. He can give two units of ST reform a turn and they like Fury and his feat too. I've tried Drakhuns with him before and the feat makes them really hard to affect on scenario. A key point to remember with Kozlov is that he is unusual in using jacks to deal with terrain. So less need for Saxon in theme (maybe Ragman to really up the damage potential). It will end up as a scenario/attrition list. Playing around with the MoW theme got me 2xSTs with UA and Kovniks, 1x Bombardiers + UA, a Drakhun, Ragman and 34 points for the battlegroup. I think he could run that well - hot-swap Tac Supremacy to get the STs up the board in shield wall, Ragman lurking nearby. Bombardiers hold back for mini-feat. Drakhun runs off to claim a zone if required. Battlegroup deals with terrain if required; 2 - I've run a Zerkova1 list in Jaws with 5 jacks in it and I'm fairly happy with it: Zerkova1 -Juggernaut -Juggernaut -Marauder Forgeseer (free) -Destroyer Forgeseer (free) -Destroyer Marksman Kayazy Assassins (max) + UA Eliminators Eliminators Widowmakers Zerkova doesn't load the jacks up that frequently. Juggernauts work nicely with Watcher, the Marauder does slams or is a sacrifical piece. The Destroyers have the range to aim and then get boosted (and magical/blessed) POW16s. So fairly jack heavy, but also stealth infantry who like Ghost Walk. Probably doesn't pair well with the Irusk2 Kayazy to the max TM list though.

I'll be taking ADR casters to an event soon and have settled on Irusk2 - Jaws of the Wolf and Strakhov2 - Legion of Steel. Various reports and list/model rundowns in my battle report thread!
Cheers, Dave

I think I would go with the popular choice of Irusk2 Jaws and SK2 LoS.
Particullarly because I find SK2 to be better in LoS and I really enjoy the Irusk2 Jaws build.
The only really hurdle I think is what to or why ADR. Its fairly complex with Themes to be honest.

I don't think it's that difficult to use ADR and themes to be fair, just takes a few read throughs.
Create your main list using the theme benefits, then choose 40pts of models that are legal in theme, but never add discounts. Then, whenever you swap stuff around, recalculate for free stuff and add/remove models as required.
My Irusk2 list has five different versions to choose from, and Strakhov2 has four different lists. Irusk2 has two slightly different standard lists, one for terrain dense tables, one with no ranged and one jack heavy. The Strakhov ones are mainly playing with the battlegroup selection, so is pretty simple.
Cheers, Dave
