Hi all,
With Cryx resurgence we can expect to see more and more mirror matches. All of us Cryxian will face this problem. Do You have any good ideas for mirror match. I would start with a few
- Denny2 - ultimate mirror for most of Cryx infantry but besides that not really good in anything else and doesn't like any of our themes - Denny3 - I am dojoing a IM wither shadow combine / colossal combo to take out WE fast
Any other casters that come to Your mind ?
K.

For a mirror match against cryx, things that remove from play to prevent recursion are always good, things that destroy infantry or prevent charges are also good. Things that prevent casting or make spells more expensive are also good in some match ups. Do you have any idea of what caster or lists you will be running into? Probably ghost fleet and dark host.
Dark host is a tough brick to chew through. The theme delivers the bane brick with the clouds and having a ton of weapon masters + tartarus that brings their MAT up to elite levels, is tough to deal with. You can out threat them however with almost any of our other infantry and hitting DEF 12 is typically not much of a problem. Even mechanithralls or carrion thralls on a charge can take out banes. Stalkers remove tough with grevious wounds.
For ghost fleet, the only things that remove from play stuff is the kraken, the corruptor and satyxis blood witches (I think). The blood witches are really solid against cryx stuff with magic weapons, gang and remove from play tech and the hag removes tough I believe. I would also be tempted to bring things like bloat thralls against cryx, for 4" AOE auto corrosion templates.

Though now I notice that you had asked for other casters good into the cryx drop. In my opinion, Denny 1 is good as always, any caster with lamentation (Gore1 and Venethrax) could shut down any casty-caster. Any caster with a nice AOE with a continuous effect or a rfp spell: skarre1 and 2. Come to think of it, Sturgis's feat would be really good at clearing out infantry and threat extension for your forces.

It's great for threat extension in the mirror and it does a wonderful job of clearing a bane traffic jam if your lines have met already. It's especially fun in the scenarios with a circular zone in the middle as the entire zone is within Sturgis hellmouth distance.

Denny1! Feat denies a turn of charges, and venom sprays make even Banes sad (especially knights relying on wall of steel)
I agree mech thralls and blood witches have game - both high threat (well, compared to banes), multiple attacks and a few tryx available. Both wouldn't mind taking few hits either being relatively cheap, and witch stealth denies revenant shooting.
I used a Denny1 IM list as my anti infantry drop: 2 free pistol wraiths can pick off important support / incorporeal models and ambushing mech thralls add a few things to counter. Also used a min bile thrall unit, which can clear enemies when needed, and once depleted makes a good unit to babysit a circular zone (no big loss to overall plan). They're not what they used to be, but especially in SR17 have some game.

One thing that people don't necessarily think about is that biles now have 2" more threat and can shoot through intervening models with their sprays. When I've had something to protect them and the new necrosurgeon they've done a lot of work for me.
