The jack looks cool but I'm ambivalent until I see the rules for it.

The more I think about him the less I'm liking him honestly. The fact he lacks any kind of Gunfighter or duel attack really sucks and makes it extremely hard to take advantage of his 8" spray considering he can't fire it if he's within 4" of an enemy thanks to Chain Strike. I'm honestly not sure where I'd actually want him in any of my lists.

I'm actually excited to give him a try. He's a little more expensive than I had hoped, and I wanted Continuous Corrosion on his spray gun (in addition to Critical Blind - I'm greedy!). But, he's very thematic - a mechanical squid with tentacles and spraying ink and living in a little cloud to hide. Not sure exactly how he'll work, but I really want to try him with Aiakos2 in Ghost Fleet.

Is that just me, or this 'jack is just a waste of materials and points? Srsly, WHY PP decided that Cryx should only get crap...

4" reach, no gun fighter. Cloud generation that kills friendlies. Makes total sense. This really is the defining theme of Cryx models - "make sure nothing works together"
Aiakos2 does make him "better" with the assault feet. by why on earth does it have to be so hamstrung every other turn of the game and with every other caster?

Yep. I'll pass. For 19 points it needs something more. I could see it at maybe 1 point higher than the standard crabjack chassis. The fact that it has an 8" spray, but you can only effectively use the last 4" of it is just silly. Add some rule that says that Chain Strike doesn't apply to determining whether the model is in melee or give it Assault and maybe it is worth its points. Also, the spray should have continuous corrosion. It does have a nice threat range at 12" tho. Take away its gun altogether and give it Thresher... (kidding).

You guys rubbed off on me. Initially i thought it was cool. But now not so sold. i was comparing other faction character jacks at that price range and Kharybdis is definately on the low end of the spectrum. Even with Aiakos2 he seems wonky. He can get dark shroud to fix his pillowfistedness or Assail for the threat extention and focus. under feat he could have 17" threat. Which i admit is pretty legit. but that the only time he close to being worth his points. I wish he had gunfighter and quickwork and an imprint for an assail like ability.

I think it's slightly too expensive for what it does, but it's not that bad. The thing I like about it is that you get Kraken level of threat range without the same point investment. I don't really see much reason to play him under anyone but Aiakos though. If he had 2" standard melee range, and was 16-17 (I think the 16 point crab jacks are also slightly overcosted), I would play it with Gaspy 3 for always on Unyielding. As others mentioned, it would be nice if he had native Gunfighter or something.

The 4" melee on ravager and ability to fish for blind crits (may need the WSC here) is pretty awesome.

You know, shouldn't Chain Strike read, "This weapon becomes RNG 4 when this model makes an attack using this weapon during its activation."
I mean, if Kharybdis wanted to use his gun, why in the heck would he dangle his arms way out in front of himself?...
This never came up with the Kraken, since it can use its guns in melee, but now its a problem. This seems like it would be an easy fix and is probably consistent with the intent for the model.
He's not a bad 'jack, but just lacks some oomph for being a character and costing 19 points. I agree that he might be fun with Terminus.

I don't see how he's any better than Erebus in this respect, especially considering Erebus is 3 points cheaper. Erebus might only have 1" reach, but he also has overtake to let him Pac Man around and instead of a one shot Crit Blind Gun he has auto stationary fists. I'll take 1" Bezerk + Overtake over 4" melee if I'm trying to clear out dudes any day.
