Tried the cotd kallus 2 build. Works pretty well. I want to try him in ravens with an all raek battlegroup(might swap in a bolt thrower as hes great for procing overrun)
Kallus 2 wb 28 Raekx5 40 Assassin free Deathstalkerx2 free Martyrx2 Raiders 12 Raptorx2 36 Striders+ua 13
Idea is Raeks and striders help spread blazing path, jam, score circle zones, clear chaff, and paint heavy targets. Raiders and raptors help drop heavier targets with battle lust. A fair amount of solos and units for scoring scenario. Martyrs help cycle overrun and battle lust as needed. Could swap one raek and 2 martyrs for blight blades.

This looks like it will struggle with armour skew. If you don't drop a heavy it likely kills all raptors it engaged with trivially. Having some punch with azrael is probably better.
Also why striders instead of swords?

Its in the ravens theme. Def 15 striders jam pretty hard and make use of blazing path. They are also solid into idrians, reeves, winterguard, stormfalls. Id put swordsmen in if the theme allowed them. Ive been playing kallus 2 in cotd with azrael, zuriel, boltthrower, swordsmen+ua and double raptors. Just trying something new.

I'm worried Kallus wouldn't be able to run that many Raeks without any fury management, why not drop a Spell Martyr and two Raeks for an Angelius to have a solid Overrun target and a smaller battlegroup?

I play 3 raek 2 naga with the rest very similar. 4-5 battlelusted grots take a heavy. Dont look at this and asume it wont take heavies. It really will.

I dont see what the warmongers do, thatcswordmen wouldnt do better? Pow 18 charging in with 4 dice is better Imo than pow 11 charging in with 5 dice, they have the same threat range, and there is far more boxes to chew through using the Warmongers at arm 18.

Getting ready for the new ogrun theme i see. Ive never seen warmongers on the table. Id love to do a miserable meat mountain list with a bunch of durable medium and large bases. Cant wait for ogrun centaurs with kallus 2!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it be 14/4d6 vs 13/5d6? Warmongers have POWERFUL charge as opposed to BRUTAL charge, which when combined with BB aura would get you to 18, but conversely the Swords should be PS13. You can also fit more Swords around an enemy counteracting their lower individual strength. Also, casualties before arrival, which will happen, are more easily absorbed with 10 models vs only 5.

Played a variant of the above kallus 2 list into my buddies issyria gunline list. I swapped a raek and 2 martyrs for blightblades. My friend was running afg (that thing is near impossible to remove!), several thunderbolt lights, hemera, halbadiers, stormfall, and dragoon. The store closed before we finished but it was a close match.
List thoughts:
Kallus 2: Functioned as a battle lust bot for raptors. Upkept blazing path. Camping 2 most of the game and hiding behind a forest.
Raptors: blinding lighted ones hit hemera very hard with battle lust crippling the heavy with just 2 and assasin. Sniped out a few stormfalls on non blinding light unit. Stayed back most game away from guns.
Striders: killed stormfalls and jammed halbadiers with blazing path for devasting feat. Repo 3 on halbs mitigated feat somewhat.
Raeks-2 raeks unjammed raptors and deathstalkers from dragoon. Raek with overrun killed 3 halbs. Over run raek painted hemera with fire. Allowing raptors to benifit from feat. Helped spread feat. Could have played them better overall
Raiders- ambushed and ran to engage stormfall archer and heavy sniper team.
Blightblades- ambushed in back running to threat issyria and other archer team. Didnt do much as game ended.
Deathstalkersx2- poor dice rolls killed 1 halbs between two of them. Theyve been pure money in the past. Dice happen.
Overall- id drop blightblades and possibly add anyssa to benift raptors and assist deathstalkers. Id also add two martyrs for early brand of fire or to help cycle overrun and battle lust. Succubus, shepherd, forsaken, or bolthrower in place of raek might not be too bad either.
Had issues removing afg. I know from prior experience to run up and engage it so it cant benifit from aiming bonuses but how are you guys dealing with this $%#*/@.

I think your math is off here. And there are still two swordmen for every ogrun. And with withering ash, they fare better vs shooting than the ogrun. I wish ogrun had a place right now. Lets hope for the theme!
