I cant figure out how you're getting the theme to show in war room but here's what i got: War Room won't have the Theme until the street date of the command book. Conflict Chamber has them.

If Nephalim gained Oracular vision (Gain a Fury to negate an instance of Damage once per turn) then this theme would be awesome.

How would Bethayne work in theme? Armor cracking could be done with disintegration/feat/swordsmen so the lack of heavies would be fine. Spam soldiers or protectors who both have two inch reach to help trigger flank. Protectors can also shield guard the swordsmen on the way in while soldiers are a point cheaper. My initial thought would be conflictchamber.com/#ba1b_-0ubmbuaKaKaKaKaKaLa_b0a_fUbbbbLegion Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Children of the Dragon !!! You are using a pre-release theme. (Bethayne 1) Bethayne, Voice of Everblight [+20] - Belphagor - Succubus [4] - Nephilim Protector [10] - Nephilim Protector [10] - Nephilim Protector [10] - Nephilim Protector [10] - Nephilim Protector [10] - Nephilim Soldier [9] Blighted Nyss Swordsmen (max) [15] - Blighted Nyss Swordsman Abbot & Champion [0] Blighted Nyss Swordsmen (max) [15] Blighted Nyss Warlord [0] Blighted Nyss Shepherd [1] Blighted Nyss Shepherd [1] You could trade the succubus and 5 protectors for 6 soldiers if you wanted to go that way too.

I think the Beth list has potential.
I like Twins with a similar list. I mixed it up to have one Bloodsear and one Bolt thrower + 2 of the others and Zuriel in my list. Gives me some free Incubi.

Seems my Bethayne idea has come to the mind of others already. conflictchamber.com/#ba1b_-0ubmbfcOaLaLaL29bjblaVbxa-befUfUcobbLegion Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Children of the Dragon !!! You are using a pre-release theme. (Bethayne 1) Bethayne, Voice of Everblight [+20] - Belphagor - Nephilim Bolt Thrower [11] - Nephilim Bloodseer [8] - Nephilim Soldier [9] - Nephilim Soldier [9] - Nephilim Soldier [9] - Shredder [4] Blighted Nyss Hex Hunters (min) [9] - Bayal, Hound of Everblight [0] Blighted Nyss Legionnaires (min) [9] - Captain Farilor & Standard [0] Blighted Nyss Swordsmen (min) [9] Blighted Nyss Sorceress & Hellion [6] Blighted Nyss Warlord [5] Blighted Nyss Warlord [5] Spell Martyr [1] Blighted Nyss Shepherd [1] I'm Loving min units at the moment. So the only real change I could see most people making is dropping the legionaries. Which I understand. I use them as a shell around B&B. under feat with cloak of ash they are pretty difficult to kill by normal infantry means. Plus pow10 weapon masters are not bad. Yes pow 11 "double" weapon master is better. But with the amount of board presence that many models make, it's pretty impressive. Add to that the current meta of jack spam. I want you to take 5 big things that can't put out a ton of attacks. I also want just a few big models to focus a lot of weapon master attacks on. one warlord deals (average dice magic) 28 damage on a charge against a disintegrated khador heavy. If anything I myself would drop the legionaires and pick up the blackfrost shard. kiss and disintegrate? sure I'll take an effective pow15 +5d6. Thank you. So I don't hate the theme. It's just very, very, restrictive. You have to be able "play backwards" in that the beasts are not meant to take down other beast/jacks. That's the infantry's job. So Bethayne is the best for that. Kryssa would work to, but I run her constantly so needed a change of pace. Rhyas might pull it off but not against above average armor. Vayl 1 might be able to thanks to incite. Kallus I think would miss having a Blightbringer, but could manage. If you wanted a gun line Lylyth 2 and 7 boltthrowers = 14 range 14, pow 14 shots.

I think this is exactly why I like the theme so much. It forces you to play Legion in a very different way then what most people have ever played it. Usually Legion is 'bring heavies and support' but this theme definitely doesn't let you do that. I wish the rewards for playing it were a little bit better though. I'm not saying it's good or not because I haven't played it yet, but it's definitely my favorite theme of the three.

Sorry, I made a mistake in the original post but I think you filled in what I meant - the beast are not meant to take down other beasts/jacks.
So yeah, it's very different from standard legion. I've been running infantry heavy since Mk3 and so this fits my play style and I can make it work well. Running against Kaya 3 at home as testing 5 warpwolves just cannot chew through that many infantry, even with the help of nightwitches (killing spree falls down due to model placement). Though it helps when you alpha the stalker off the table first. My problem is I've been playing infantry legion so much I was actually hoping for a good beast theme. Oracles sort of works for that but I feel guilty. Like taking all jacks under the pre-errata winter guard theme. Just seems wrong.

So how are people feeling about Children of the Dragon so far? The problem I keep coming back to again and again is that it feels like it predominantly is an infantry theme list, yet its free point criteria is based on warbeasts, and a very limited pool of warbeasts at that. Compared to Ravens of War, it feels like it's only really better if you REALLY want swordsmen, and the only caster I really want swordsmen with is Fyanna2. So I went with exactly 50 points of warbeasts, to get 12 free points and still otherwise push an infantry-heavy army. This is basically close to what I would run with Fyanna2 outside of theme, except it would have been a neraph and proteus. I'm not sure this is an improvement yet, but if it ends up being no better (or indeed worse), I can think of literally no other caster that I wouldn't rather run either in a different theme or no theme at all.
(Fyanna 2) Fyanna, Torment of Everblight [+28] - Nephilim Bolt Thrower [11] - Nephilim Bolt Thrower [11] - Nephilim Soldier [9] - Nephilim Soldier [9] - Nephilim Protector [10] - Succubus [4] Blighted Nyss Raptors (max) [18] Incubus (5) [0] Blighted Nyss Swordsmen (max) [15] - Blighted Nyss Swordsman Abbot & Champion [0] Annyssa Ryvaal [8] Blighted Nyss Shepherd [1] Blighted Nyss Shepherd [1] Blighted Nyss Shepherd [1] Blighted Nyss Warlord [5]

I don't like it. My pairing - the Abby1 list is a better drop nearly all the time I fear.

I went with Twins because Fury management is an issue and they can personally take 7 or so off their beasts. Plus Rhyas' Onslaught is good for Swordsmen. What is bad though is it only threats about 10/11" (except for Saeryn and Rhyas who go a bit further)
