Hi All,
New Skorne player here trying to work through what 25pt list I want to use for a game tonight with a buddy. He’s either going to go with a Kromac1 list of some sort, or a Dawnlord1 or Garryth list.
I’m just getting my feet wet and have limited models, but this is what I’m thinking for now.
Morg2
Krea
Shaman
Gladiator
Extoller Soulward (to help get Mortality on stealth)
Max Karax w/ UA
Don’t really have an ideal Shadow Play target, but I can see a couple of assassination vectors with this list. Thoughts?

What all models do you have access to? I like your inclusion of the extoller for sure. The shaman does help cast your Animus so morg doesn't have to, but I feel like you might be in support bloat mode. I might try to find room for an archidon.

Yeah, I also feel like I'm a little too supportish. Don't have an Archidon or Karn, or any good targets for Shadow Play. Probably the "best" option I have for Shadow Play is a Clyclops Savage, which I've considered swapping the Krea out for. Problem is, 25pts is just so limiting, you can't really get everything you want in there.
I have the Skorne army box models, a shaman, agonizer, marketh, soulward, raider, all the basic titans, and a savage.

I'm a fan of savages, but I always want beast handlers because it allows them to be a hard threat with p&s15 and a free charge. Are you playing scenarios? That influences what we would use as well.

I knew I was forgetting something! I have a min unit of PGBH's as well (which gets me to 25pts). It's just assassination - no scenario.
What I like about the Krea is going Morg2’s Feat > Mortality > Krea shot > Shaman shot > everything else follow up (which isn’t much if the Gladiator can’t get there.
What I like about the Savage is upkeeping Shadow Play on him > Morg2 Feat > Mortality > Shaman shot > Savage charging through everything to caster/lock for free with PGBH B2B and getting two attacks off.

I think I would run the Savage over the krea honestly. The krea is great for it's paralysis if it lands, but the blind should drop def enough that morg or a Savage could take out the enemy caster. And the karax are pretty tanky on their own without the krea Animus.

Ended up going with the Savage like we talked about. The Savage actually did a lot of work. He managed to charge a Griffon and almost destroy it, then survived two rounds of attacks from the Griffon and an Aspis. Seems like a lot of resources spent to kill a 7pt light beast, and he didn’t even die! He was alive at the end of the game when Morghoul killed Dawnlord Vyros.
Victory goes to Skorne! Definitely wasn't a clean game, but I managed to do enough right to pull it off.
Thanks for helping talk through the list.

Glad to hear it! Anything really notable you learn from the match?

Glad to hear it! Anything really notable you learn from the match? Yes. 1) A max unit of Karax with UA are NOT a good play into a max unit of Dawnguard Sentinals with UA. 2) Vengeance is much more OP than I thought. 3) A warcaster’s ability to negate 5 damage by spending a focus can still be used, in spite of Mortality or Grievous Wounds (is this actually correct, because this seems so OP to me). 4) Order of operation is key. Overall, I was just glad to get my second game with Skorne and in MKIII completed. Just trying to have fun and learn as much from each game as I can at the moment, which is exactly what I did!

If you play into that list again, the karax aren't a terrible drop, but don't run the UA. Sentinels are nasty. My friend is rather fond of them so I usually run bloodrunners at him. With Morg 2 they get Parry, so even better. Add the solo and you should have no problem with those sentinels.

I need to purchase a good shadow play target or two, and think about the bloodrunners and bloodrunner solo. I have Adeptus Marketh, as well, which should help quite a bit when I play a higher points list. Shadow Play targets I'm thinking of buying: Molik Karn Archidon Tyrant Rhadeim I feel like I've only seen Morg2 lists for Wings of Death, so not really sure what other infantry to consider. I'll have to take another look at infantry selections and think about it, and just try different things out, I guess.
