Harriers are cheap animus and transfer batteries
Shredders are the damage dealers. Can do a number to heavies and heavy infantry due to flank
Stingers are the hybrid approach. A melee attack with a short range spray attack.
That's the difference between then all. The stingers spray and rat and short and low. So it's never considered when building a list.

Hi Neuty - do you think where the Stinger suffers is that it is designed to be a hybrid, that it doesn't do either well enough (if you think Stingers suffer at all that is). Like I stated, I'd rather they do more on the spray rather than the melee attack.

Like I stated, I'd rather they do more on the spray rather than the melee attack. I would like the stingers to be ranged focused while the shredders are melee focused. The stinger suffers a lot from being a hybrid. It lost 2 pow on the weapon, straight poison, and 2" melee.

I can see getting Stinger from Pot in a pinch or under Vayl1 Incite. I can never justify taking it in the list. I don't know why Stingers warranted such significant nerf, loosing all damage capabilities AND useful animus.
Harriers can see some use due to cost and fligt.
Shredders can be nasty as finishers, especially under Abby2 which makes them insane (Mat9 Pow 12 weaponmasters that can threaten 13" with fly?) or Thags2.
But Stingers - oh boy. No one even remember they exist.
