After the Imperial Warhost drop, my old Stampede list has gained quite a bit more value than before, and I cannot wait for it to see the table in a few weeks.
Xerxis, Fury of Halaak
-Bronzeback Titan
-Titan Cannoneer
-Titan Sentry
-Tiberion
-Agonizer (free)
-Basilisk Krea (free)
Tyrant Zaadesh
-Titan Gladiator
Paingiver Beast Handlers (max)
Paingiver Beast Handlers (min)
When people see this list the first thing they notice is a REAL lack of fury control for the number of beasts. Xerxis2 still has the bane of 5 fury, mini Zaadesh only has 4, and PGBH die with nothing more than a stiff breeze. However, even if every titan goes balls to the wall, this list has it covered. The BB reduces fury count on all titans within his command, revoking a total of 4 per turn, as long as they ended their turn within 7 inches of him. Zaadesh can take all 4 from the Glad, but is just as happy with only taking 3. The PGBH also now have a much tougher screen with both the Agonizer and Krea in tow, giving you an additional 10 removal, 6 on the alpha (you'll be using the other 4 for the +2 str).
The original list, without the agonizer and krea, was designed to be a smash and grab list, mauling the enemy while using the cannoneer to bombard weaker infantry. X2's huge sized base, however, would always prove a problem. If you took that out of the equation, though, it was a tourny ready list that I was planning on teaming up with Mak2 double kitty, Zaal2 Exhalted, or a Lord Assassination Morghoul (morg2) list that still hasn't been tested, yet was based strictly on assassination runs. However, with the Aggy and the Krea you have some really interesting combinations on top of what they already provide. Krea for the def and arm buff to range is very nice, but the Aggy can drive cautious players up a wall with Maddening, eliminate the fear of most minion, solo, and lesser casters, and his go to spell, -2 str, which really hurts when you are facing off against a list with so many beefed up units. Include how good of a zone clearer repulsion would make on a gargantuan sized base x.O; You're probably getting the idea. Since Aggy and Krea both get the +2 speed bonus, they'll be able to keep up and keep out of trouble. Xerxis2 will be an effective 15 def, 21 arm + tough against ranged attackers and 13 def, 21 arm + tough against melee.
the list has increased its already buffed up engagement speed, amped up its defense to a viable level, and become good enough to not only clear zones, but keep them cleared. Oh and yeah, it's attacks still go boom x.O;
If anyone would be so kind, I'd really like for someone to test it out. The changes of having 2 additional beasts on an already loaded down list could be very flawed. At the same time, actually using hyper aggression and the +2 inches to the deployment zone might move the beasts forward too quickly when Xerxis2's 10 inch ctrl range is taken into consideration.
