Hi all,
so, to cut right to the chase, I was playing against my brother in law and his Cryx. He uses two units of Satyxis Raiders with the Sea Witch. Now, I was able to kill off the Witch of one unit but only after she had used Whipping Winds on his turn. I figured, kill the witch, the ability is gone. He argued that the ability stays until the round is over. Which is correct? Thanks in advance!

Whipping Winds says "affected models gain Force Barrier for one round." It would remain even once the Sea Witch was killed. It is not a granted ability (like Tough on the Bane Warrior Standard Bearer).
In the case of granted abilities, they do go away if you kill the model doing the granting (so, kill the Standard Bearer and Bane Warriors lose Tough - assuming that there is no other Bane Warrior within the 1" for Take Up).

Thanks for that, Grimolf. We played it correctly, then. (Although I seem to remember it being different in MK2.) Darn chicks are annoying, to be sure.

Most of the time the skills that go away with a model dying(like "Granted" skills) have the "while this model is in formation" or "while in this model's CMD range" clause.

Thanks for that, Grimolf. We played it correctly, then. (Although I seem to remember it being different in MK2.) Darn chicks are annoying, to be sure. It was different. Force Barrier used to be a Granted ability from the Sea Witch, they changed to the "prayer" type abilities that they have now, Whipping Winds is one effect they can choose, the others are Red Tide (Overtake) and whatever the Relentless Charge prayer is called.
