Online Card database, you are helpful! 4th sentence of Flesh Meld reads: "Any effects on Bethayne when she melds are applied to Belphagor" I think that means it "should" work. the animus would carry over. Also doesn't say it ends Bethayne's activation. Just specifies Belphagor cannot activate later that turn. The problem is that Bethayne does not replace Belphagor. Bethayne goes away, Belphagor inherits effects and fury and Belphagor takes control of the battlegroup and upkeeps. He doesn't get to activate, and was not activating, so cannot sprint. It may be worth asking on the rules forum, but I don't believe it will work.

ummm... I just had a realize
I know now why Belphagor (by himself) is a good bit weaker than in MK2. Flesh meld reads "while melded Belphagor becomes a warlock warrior model" and the feat applies to warrior models.
There was an Idea of taking the Blightbringer with B&B since MK3 hit but I don't think it ever really worked out. but I'm about to start working on the concept again. CotD was fun and effective but I want to play the Butcher...
Melded w/ Invocation of blood you get speed 7 mat 6 pow 14. Feat makes that mat 8 and weapon master. Blightbringer makes it pow 16. Black frost shard can make that pow 18. Bethayne can go in under feat turn as a Mat 8 pow 18 weaponmaster with 7 attacks. Or if you really, really, need it for w/e reason; disintegration makes it a pow 20 but you'd likely be better off with the 3 more attacks.
I'm pretty sure I can get more infantry that work well with the concept. But that alone makes me want to playtest it immediately. It's a similar principle to why I take the blightbringer with Abby 2. Our casters, with enough resources dedicated, can do a gleeful amount of work.

Typically when someone leads off with "I can't remember where" it means they don't have the citation. I get that, and I'm sorry I was not intending it to be snide or sarcastic. It was more a call to other people who might read it. Someone might know where it was mentioned and be able to link to it.

Golab might come out of CiD without it.

Imagine Kryssa with sprint given all her possible movement shenanigans.
