I'll have small 50pts Steamroller tournament this weekend and now thinking about what roster to drop against each opponent. There will be 3 rounds and everybody has to play each of his rosters at least 1 time. You can find all rosters here (mine are last and I am the only Khadoran): drive.google.com/open?id=0BwDiErbigmlpdzBhZmZWcW05M2cThats my initial thoughts: Trollbloods - Butcher3 just to kill everything fast Cryx - Butcher3 or Irusk1? Since it is not Ghost fleet or Banes Irusk can stop almost everybody so both lists are viable. Menoth - I think he will drop Kreoss against me. Irusk can do well cause Menoth has no Pathfinder at all Minions - Irusk 1? Cygnar - Butcher3 just to kill everything fast What do you think of it? What matchups are better and what are worse?

Well, let's consider their lists and what they want to do first.
Trolls: I don't rate the troll pairing highly, simply because both those lists are variations on the same thing. Answer that and you don't care which list they drop. Both the lists are this: Oooh look I have a big mountain king in a small points game. Can you kill it? You can't? I win! You can? Well, now take two Maulers/Madrak to your face! Both of your lists can deal with a MK but Irusk is more vulnerable to Madrak. I would probably go with the B3 list, pop the stone with the GC if possible then kill everything.
An important tip: Whelps CAN block a heavy from getting into melee with the MK unless it has 2" range. Send your 1" melee jacks in first if you plan to commit multiple jacks to it or if they are smart, you won't be able to get them in.
Minions: The minions pairing has the same issue. Both lists are variations of the same thing. That thing is: I'm going to feed you shamblers so my gators can get the alpha. Unfortunately you want to play your Irusk1 list into they Rask list because it has pathfinder issues, while you want to play B3 into the Maelok list to deal with tough and recursion. I guess you should go with Irusk unless you're pretty sure they will drop the Maelok list. Just watch out for Irusks safety on Maeloks feat turn!
Cygnar: I would be too worried about having Irusk shot off the table against either list. You don't really have any way to keep him safe other than distance. Though the MoWs should do well into the Hellslingers one. The Stormblade list just looks too juicy not to drop the B3 list with GC into. Those rough terrain templates are going to ruin their day! And of course B3 is much harder to kill if you camp some focus.
Menoth: You're already on track there. MoWs shut down Kreoss1 drop & pop. So Irusk is pretty safe. No pathfinder will just make those lists hell to play into Irusk1. Just watch for assassination angles and you should be fine.
Cryx: I don't think BLT should be in that list. But Slayer spam is actually pretty scary. The Goreshade list is going to try to use Malice to drag stuff in and smash it. Then use Soul Gate to move out of reprisal range. Lamentations will also be up, so that really hurts B3s ability to get any work done himself. I feel like they will almost certainly drop Goreshade if they have that option seeing B3 in your pairing. I think that means you have to go Irusk1 into it. MoW can't be dragged so that helps shut down the Malice tech. But I wouldn't count on being able to cast Inhospitable Ground or even Battle Lust with Lamentations on the table.
I think Cryx will be your most difficult match up depending on how skilled they are. You need to try to prevent them getting free trades with Soul Gate and also from dragging things. I think Irusk needs to play back to force them to come forward if they want to get him with Lamentations. Then go for the kill if possible. Don't forget that Death Walker is negative 2 Str and Def to living models. Killing it first can be a decent idea before starting to do work on other models.
