It was fun. Khador vs Khador match, Old Witch 1 vs Butcher 3. As you might expect if you remember me, I brought Old Witch.
There were a couple points where I was fuzzy - knowing new model rules, knowing throw rules, and getting a little confused about old versions of rules. (For example, Hunter not ignoring cloud effects for LOS purposes.
Unfortunately, my opponent didn't know the throw rules either, so we did need a little help to make it through the game.
We had a scenario with two circular and one rectangular zone (a forest in the zone). No points were actually scored, though this did influence deployment. I picked the side of the board with a center-right wall and right-side hill on it, deciding I would rather have terrain than going first.

And that was game. Some thoughts:

- Deployment:
- Butcher3: Split one Rifle Corps unit off to each side. Everything else to the center.
Old Witch: Heavy warjacks to the right, Scrapjack to the left, everything else just right of center.
- Butcher doesn't hand out any focus.
- Rifle Corps units advance towards the two zones.
- The Juggernauts spread to the edges of the front line (#1 towards the left side of the forest)
- Kodiaks trample up the center presenting cloud cover.
- Ruin and Butcher stay behind clouds.
- Old Witch: Warjacks apparate forward, no focus handed out.
- Rifle Corps advances. Half hide behind the wall and half move towards the circular zone.
- Heavy warjacks run to the right circular zone.
- Greylords drop clouds on one uncovered rifleman, Scrapjack, and Old Witch.
- Old Witch drops Iron Flesh on the Rifle Corps, Avatar of Slaughter on Scrapjack, and Murder of Crows on some forward warjacks to provide cloud cover. Her support models follow her.
- Scrapjack advances cautiously, safe behind the forest.

- Butcher doesn't hand out any focus.
- Left Rifle Corps advances into zone, escorted by Juggernaut #1. One advances to within 5" of Scrapjack and takes a potshot.
- Right Rifle Corps cautiously advances to within shooting range of Kodiak #1W and open fire, doing some damage.
- Kodiak #1B advances to within charge range of Kodiak #1W (this is intentional).
- The rest of the force advances up the middle.
- Old Witch drops Murder of Crows and maintains the others for free. Kodiak #2W and Scrapjack get full focus loads. Scrapjack is measured at 11" from the furthest of the enemy squishies in the unit in the zone, and cackles gleefully as he and the other warjacks Apparation forward.
- Greylords advance and cloud the same three targets
- Scrapjack proceeds to murder the left side Rifle Corps unit, and then spends his second initial attack and three focus and scratching the paint on Juggernaut #1 a bit. Butcher promises to murder Scrapjack with Juggernaut #1.
- Rifle Corps soften up Kodiak #1B.
- Kodiak #2W charges Kodiak #1B with a full focus load, smashing and grabbing it and throwing it in Butcher's face, knocking it down with 4 boxes left and a crippled cortex.
- Kodiak #1W runs forward into the Rifle Corps, barely reaching the front rank. (This is a mistake, though inconsequential.)
- Old Witch is 17" from Scrapjack, and ambles leftwards behind the wall to retrieve Scrapjack with Unseen Path, trailed by support models.
- Marauders advance, contesting the center zone. No points are scored.
- Butcher stands up but neither he nor the dogs can Vengeance their way through parked warjacks. He hands out focus to Juggernaut #2 and Ruin. We premeasure for a feat-based assassination. Old Witch is within the theoretical threat range if there wasn't anything in the way, but she can't be pulled through the wall into swatting range.
- Kodiak #1B limps out of the way.
- Kodiak #2B charges Marauder #1, damaging it and knocking it down with a headbutt.
- Juggernaut #1 jogs towards the fight.
- Field Gun knocks down Kodiak #2W, leaving it with 14 boxes and knocked down.
- Juggernaut #2 advances and tries to clobber either a Marauder or Kodiak #2W, I forget which.
- Rifle Corps surround Kodiak #1W in the hopes of jamming it in place. (This is a mistake, though inconsequential. Vent Steam, anyone?)
- Butcher advances, Energizes, Impending Dooms, feats, and works on all three Marauders and Kodiak #2W, killing one and crippling the cortex of Marauder #1.
- Ruin advances and finishes off another heavy warjack. This leaves Marauder #3 with one intact arm and cortex.
- Old Witch allocates focus to Marauder #3 and Scrapjack, who Apparitions into a slightly more convenient position.
- Greylords Ice Cage Butcher once.
- Marauder #3 kills Butcher.
And that was game. Some thoughts:
- The Bokur was not useful in this match. Greylords and Sylys were, though.
- Multiple small mobile units would have been very useful. The single large unit was nice buff economy, but it would have been nice to fit in, say, Kayazy Eliminators or minimum units of Kossites for scoring threat purposes.
- Kodiaks and Marauders are awesome. Juggernauts are good for killing things, but I am not impressed. Have to watch control range carefully.
- Themes are pretty strong. However, Old Witch 1 needs cloud production, which doesn't seem available in any of our themes yet.
- Lots of little mistakes here and there.
- Old Witch 1 would be a lot better if her feat's knockdown wasn't limited to warrior models.
