Long time lurkers will know my general theory that a challenge for PP is that there just ins't a lot of current love up at PP for our big red faction and they don't really understand what we can (and can't do)
Not sure who the author is for NQ 73 but
"Butcher 2 has his feat, Feel the hate, which can work on both Manhunters and Yuri the Axe. An additional advance and potential three extra attacks per model outside of nthe normal activation means Manhunters and Yuri can reach deep into enemy lines and even work over heavy warjacks with ease." pg. 19
That is called a CRUEL CRUEL TEASE. My biggest joys in MK2 where using Butcher 2's feat to kill people that way (usually with Ruin or Fenris). Sadly, that ain't the feat anymore. Sad the editors also missed this time warp....but I guess Haley has been busy at HQ ;-)
(on the other hand we won fluff this issue - can't wait to read TEN plus pages on the witch ;-)

You know I was about to shut this down for PPS_Strawman but you got lucky for amusing me and including my favorite caster.

They are still playing with the Mk2 cards at NQ I guess...

Maybe they will show some love and B2 feat is on his way to be fixed back to glory (so you can chow trough cryx with sweet B2 list) or they just don't know what they're talking about. This is why I dismiss all strategy and tactical articles from magazines. Usually designers think something is supposed to work is some ways and in their minds work. Then players are able to find all the abuses and the real strenght if pieces.

After all, PP would never let such an obvious error get through editing and review...

Maybe it's a preview for Butcher4. I can't believe somebody is that wrong about the feat. (Especially since the quote says that they can attack out of activation.)

My thought is that PP staff are just playing a different less competitive game than the rest of us—one in which their perception of fluff trumps our experience and community identity. That is the only way I get to a gun carriage that is a tank with heavy cannons with less range than a hand cannon. This is the centerpiece of my next article for my personal thread actually. I feel like PP has lost touch with the way most of us play and what most of us want out of our factions. This is not to say they have to agree with that perception but their failure to address obvious conflicts tells me they are operating in a different world than the one I play in.

I've been getting this in my head for a while now. Same thing happened at PP: the devs are quite simply not playing by their own rules, but refuse to tell anyone about it. However, their magazine (which the new model pushes insanely hard) gives us glimpses into the playstyles and rules involved, and they just don't match up.

Could it be because they have so many things on their minds with different versions of the core rules, model stats, and steamroller rules from the old versions, current version and future versions that they just can't keep it straight anymore?

Notice that the article was written by some guy named Tim Simpson. So, who's Tim Simpson? Does anybody know him?
I don't know him. I'm betting that he is a mid to lower level guy at PP that Lyle Lowery said: "He Tim, you play Khador, right? You doing anything right now? How about you crank out an article about Kossites and Manhunters for the last No Quarter magazine. Sound good?"
It's an article about troops and solos that nobody takes anymore in the last edition of a magazine that is being replaced with a "newer, better" version. I'm betting that the editing and fact checking wasn't too tight on that article...

This is the only Tim I know in a fantasy or tabletop gaming setting... Ive been thinking about getting an NQ subscription. This thread is not pushing me in that direction...

it's a fairly common name though. I'd expect there to be thousands. I found a golfer and a video games lighting specialist on a quick search
