Lately when I'm making Cryx lists I end up using battlegroups that look pretty similar, something like this:
-Leviathan -Inflictor -Stalker/Scavenger -1-2 Arc nodes (typically 1 Deathripper and 1 Nightwretch)
The Leviathan, especially, feels like an MVP almost every game. It doesn't really do anything specifically spectacular, but it lets me put damage on targets turn after turn while my opponents are playing the "pew pew at the melee army" game. I almost always regret it when I leave it out of the list.
Are your battlegroups more varied, or do you find yourself falling into a pattern? What's it look like?

Since my main casters are Agathia, Scaverous, and Mortenbra (just got back in) I tend to have a character heavy or seether, and inflictor, and 1-2 deathrippers depending on whether I took a character heavy or not

It really depends on the caster, but I do usually start with 1-2 arc nodes and a single heavy or 2 lights, then I flesh out with some more jacks or infantry, depending on the type of list.
I think you're on the right track with your basis, though I would probably not always take 2 heavies. What kind of casters do you play this with?

It's been something like this with just about everyone I've played, though I am mostly playing 'caster with ARM debuffs, and in Infernal Machines. So Gaspy3, Denny2, Venethrax, Denny3. The Inflictor is usually the first to go when I get tight on points (it usually gets replaced by a bonejack).

Generally 2x light and a heavy, or a kraken (maybe plus an arc)
Lights usually 2 arc nodes or 1 arc and a stalker (can always find some use for This guy, even with a sub optimal caster).
Heavy often the casters character, desecrator or slayer.
Rarely exceed my wjp by much.

Rarely exceed my wjp by much. I'm finding this as well. Trying to hit the sweet spot in Dark Host for bonus solos means you don't have extra points for your battlegroup.

Lately I got either double Leviathan or triple inflictor and I only throw in an arcnode if I absolutely have to.

It definitely varies with the caster for me but jacks I gravitate to are 2 arc nodes (typically rip jaws unless I need the discount of the deathripper or want an AOE of the night wretch), sometimes lights like a stalker, sometimes a colossal like the kraken, sometimes a reaper, sometimes a harrower or a leviathan (rarely both, but always one or the other). Obviously not all these at the same time, very caster dependent to who wants what. Sometimes deathjack if I have some spells I want to cast, like with Scaverous.
