I remember people saying this was going to happen and I didn't believe them, but ADR swappable points dropped from 40 to 20. Not sure how many people played ADR in MKIII but being able to swap in 3 slags for a Mauler and an EBDT into warjack bricks was a huge boon for Doom2. You can't swap between GK and MK now if you had the floating point.
Not sure how this will affect other factions but we probably got hit harder than anyone other than CoC.

Incorrect files.privateerpress.com/op/2017/LnL/Masters%20n%20Champions%20Rules%202017.pdfMasters/champions 2017 rules specifically states 40 pts for masters format, under the specialists section. "Players with the Vanguard benefit can add a supplementary list of models/units (specialists) to each of their army lists. Specialist lists are completely optional but cannot exceed 40 points per list."

I thought so at first too. Then I wasn't so sure. Even edited a comment on Facebook so it wasn't confusing. Lol

Im still confused how ADR works at a normal local steamroller. Does the TO have to approve it? Is it just if I bring 2 casters from the line up each gets a side board

TOs can explicitly disallow it though.

Is it just if I bring 2 casters from the line up each gets a side board ADR and the vanguard advantage only apply to the Masters & Champions formats. Specialists is a variant within steamroller, so the TO would have to be specifically playing that variant for you to take advantage of it.

Here in the UK most local steamrollers are run using the Masters Ruleset even though it can't technically be a masters. It just means that you get much more practice for the big 128 man MAsters events we have throughout the year. Not sure how it is in other countries, especially as I know 7 round Masters tournaments don't really happen in the US.

Silicon Valley Northern California does it the same way, can't speak for Sacramento, SF, SoCal or the rest of the country though. 7 round masters happen in the US, we just cut to 16 so we have a clean way of doing it across multiple days. 3-4 rounds to make the cut, 4 rounds in the finals.

I've participated in small steamrollers geared toward introducing new players to tournament style play. They were typically 50pt 1 list, 2nd list optional type stuff to lower the bar to entry. Everything else is 75pt Masters with the occasional Champions format, hopefully I'll see more champions tournaments now that it's part of the Iron gauntlet.
