Thinking of trying this:
Horgle Runebearer (Free) MK Blitzer War Wagon Fire eatersx2 Min stone and elder Burrowers Thumper (Free)
Alpha with the fire eaters, pin them down with an IR war wagon, feat and finish them off. Burrowers would stay back, maybe even burrow, and come in on the feat, when they might be worth something. I could see using sluggers instead, but I don't own any.

Don't know whatever you fancy. My idea was to utilize the most powerful melee weapons of our shooty units in combination with ranged presence.

You also can't select the krielstone ua as a free command attachment which I believe is also a bug.

I like being able to take Boomhowler & Co. in the theme. They fill an interesting niche in the faction in that they're almost better Kriel Warriors.

I like it too that they can be in this theme. It is very fluffy and all... The fact that they are unplayable garbage is the problem. Even in Kingmaker, where they get AMBUSH and Feigh Death most ppl do not bring them. Seriously... Ambush has to be one of the most powerful rules a unit can have, and even with that, AND being friendly faction in mercs (obviously) they are not regularly seen. That unit needs more things. If it was SPD 6 and ARM 16 (like before) id be interested maybe. Losing the bonkers 4+ tough i can maybe live with, since that is almost gone from the game, but having them be slow AND low arm was not a good call...

Yeah they probably need a points reduction but at least in this theme list they will be FF so you can get them to arm 17 and our spells will work on them. Boomhowler still has some neat tricks and its nice having those extra POW 12 ranged attacks(even if their RAT is horrible).

Not wowed by Boomhowler's unit atm but I do love Kriel Company. I tried THIS last night:

Northkin Fire Eaters - Leader, Trollkin Grunt, and Pyg Grunt: 7 Northkin Fire Eaters - Leader, Trollkin Grunt, and Pyg Grunt: 7 Thumper Crew - Gunner & 2 Grunts: 0 Thumper Crew - Gunner & 2 Grunts: 5
Into Kaya2. Went for scenario lockout but got an assassination after a spike on a war wagon spray, rolled back to before that (let him transfer it instead of the poke damage that he thought was all I could really do) and forced the concession due to scenario. Turns out a bunch of arm 21 huge bases with effectively impervious flesh making it so you can't get into a zone on bottom of 2 makes going first have a nasty scenario play.
