I believe they said the bane theme is going to be in this month's no quarter. As far as a command book, they are not doing those anymore, issues of nq prime are replacing them and the next cryx one is going to be black fleet. Yea, not sure i agree with that move. i feel like they are confused about how to do media. like canceling cards and cmd books and just throwing *everything* in nq prime, even though they still publish books for lore? not sure i like that its a catch most* (* has lore but so do published books so how do you keep the lore timeline straight?). now i have to spend a whole bunch on a prime and now individual cards and published books. meh. it doesnt make for a nice library like mk1 and 2 where you could just buy the prime, rule book, your faction book and be done with it. now its a whooole lot more. super meh I just use warroom. Themes, cards, etc.

Skarre 3 feat, take a point of damage, cast a free spell for it, only one cast for each spell on the list. Thats so original...

Original or not, it fits her thematically and represents a significant power boost on feat turn. Keeps the self-sacrifice thing she has going on without duplicating the other two. Skarre1 = HP for offense + ARM skew on important models to prevent counterattack Skarre2 = HP for Extreme defensive skew Skarre3 = HP for spell spam

So basically Vayl2's feat, but with cutting herself and fewer spells??
I mean ffs, why is it that PP cannot understand that a feat should be stronger if it's going to actually hurt the caster?

Directly comparing two feats in a vacuum is completely and utterly useless. The spells affected are different. The caster stats are different. The armies they support are different.

The mechanithralls are one of the sculpts that holds up the best, IMO, out of the originals. They're still adorable little guys. I can't stand the whole tit-witch aesthetic that defines most Satyxis models. [ I like the satyxis models, with the exception of the boring raiders and captain with their atrociously fragile whips. Glad to hear they are getting a resculpt, sign me up as a buyer. Outside that, skarre looks great and I think the gunslingers are the best models pp has released. And a joy to paint. However, I want to congratulate you on the phrase tit witch aesthetic. That phrase is beautiful, and I applaud you as a great poet for saying it

If this means we can pull Bloodgorgers and Black Ogrun Boarding Party through CID, pretty much all of our infantry will be useful, so I like this a lot.
I wonder how they will handle the boat thing with Skarre, her epic version was a bit silly (being on just the prow of a boat, presumably a functioning one), but that could be written off as just a nice scenic base. How does half a boat go around on land, how does it have anything other than DEF 5?

I'm hoping she's close to a Brickhouse, def 5 arm 20 and 25+ boxes. With deceleration and the available shield guards in cryx, she could be very hard to remove at range.

But if she can't move then those shield guards are effectively anchored (pun not intended) and don't do anything else except being shield guards.

Shell probably have a fairly static battlegroup unleashing as many shots as she can get and use dash and 2 units to jam until shes outshot her opponent or she gets charged. Having her shield guards stand still next to her is fine, and keeps inflictors close for swapping Draconic Blessing when they need to get work done.

If you look at the base of Skarre3, the boat is being held up by a swarm of souls. I'm betting they are what move her along.

Misery Cage is... interesting. Must have a HUGE collection range to make it worth taking over the Skarlock or Withershadow. And probably fairly cheap. No doubt it's stealthed. so what are soul trappers now? Misery Cage collects corpses, Soul Collectors collect souls. Why not bring both? edit: just saw this was already mentioned. Didn't notice this thread had multiple pages. oops.

So if the levies/harrowers get added to the cid process for pirates whats the community consensus on those crab jacks? Just a straight point reducing or a rework of some kind. Myself personally would like to see both go down to 15pts and the levy go to rof2 instead of rof d3. Although an interesting in theme fix would be to give ROF rolls +1 to skew the rof in our favor while in theme. and keep the point reduction as standard.

Harrowers don't need anything except for a change in the meta, they're okay as they are. Leviathans are fine powerlevel wise, random RoF is just a massive NPE for me so I leave mine at home. I really hope the Sharde Isle theme force doesn't have a jack benefit. Cryx has tons of living pirate infantry that are likely to be included in this theme from Black Ogrun, to Bloodgorgers, to Satyxis, to the new living human pirates. The theme should give benefits to the living models that you wouldn't normally take and not to the Crabjacks, because if it doesn't all you're going to do is fill jack points with the best Crabjack or colossal and fill out the rest of the army with Satyxis Raiders. I want the theme's rules to give me a reason to not just jam Satyxis and call it a day.
