So, having been throung Aftershock (the last PP book), and looking at the last part of the video here...
It seems that Ord and the Order of the Goldenc Crucible is getting their own faction next year (Crucible Guard).
Interesting... Ord was missed as a faction indeed, and now the story puts them into the war.

I've always enjoyed the golden crucible fluff and the ending of the video looks like there's two different battle engines so I'm keeping an eye on this faction.

Could anyone give a description of the new faction with whatever lore is available? I'd appreciate it.

They're basically the oldest human order of wizards. They're a bunch of alchemists, arcane mechanics, arcanists, and stuff like that. They were based in Llael but most left after the Khadoran invasion. Gorman is a member, or was not sure. They're some of the biggest inventors of arcantrik devices.

They're also the original producers of blasting powder, the iron kingdoms version of gunpowder.

That's cool. I think I recall from Gorman's fluff that he got kicked out for not conforming to the Crucible's (it does sound a bit familiar there) rules. Y'know, because he throws acid at people.
Sounds like it will be about the size of Grymkin. I can't imagine them making more than 6 casters for this faction. Sounds fun. I hope there's lots of focus on elemental damage stuff. Acid bombs, flamethrowers and the like. And really crazy warjack designs.

With all these tiny factions running around, tournaments are going to be interesting.

Yea they're supposed to be about the size of Grymkin and Convergence. I actually like it from a wallet stand point because I like collecting everything in a faction I play.

I'm pretty surprised that we aren't seeing a Zu faction next. But bringing Ord into the fight after so long is pretty nice. It finishes up the representation of the different Iron Kingdoms nicely.
I like the mini factions. It gives PP a chance to round out the setting, and offers something really, really new each year. Hopefully it will keep stuff fresh.

Considering the other options for new factions (Infernals! Zu! Inquisition! Radiz! Oceanic! etc), this seems kinda dull to me- not terrible, but not exciting. Considering how weird the Grymkin faction is, I suppose a bland 'play it safe' faction makes sense, but still...

Most of those would probably be hordes and they most likely want to alternate.

Yeah, after this it will probably be way easier to come up with a Hordes faction than Warmachine.

Happy to see expansion for Mercs. Would be happier with some tlc for the existing models in the faction though.

They are the main alchemist order of the Iron Kingdom, that as already said were the main sources of technological discoveries before Sebastain Nemo basically started to be the IK Tesla. They were in Llael, but moved to Ord after Khador invasion, and now they have strong ties with it. The end of the new book Aftershock gives hint on why Ord and the Golden Crucible will be pulled into the war, after so many years of neutrality. Oh, and in another part of the Keynote, we also seen the look of one of their units!
