Speculation- Cryx got a bunch of Black Ogrun and Blighted Trollkin. Several are female and fit the 'trained muscular' archetype.
Did PP go for a different body type in order to differentiate the ranges, perhaps?

What are we hoping for as to theme benefit? Maybe unyielding on all ogrun?

That would be a quite useless benefit. Cav already have it. And normal ogrun die mostly to shooting. Giving the ones ob foot +3 boxes and snacking would be nice. Like they did in the gator theme

I'll say it: Warmachine needs more fat chicks. Eh, fat people (male or female) generally don't have a place in a military, and it would seem really out of place if there were much more than we currently have. Body types like Rasheth should be rare, and not the norm. More large muscular chicks however would be sweet. It's just a hunch at this point, but I'd wager real internets that Anamag isn't an enlisted soldier.

If your fat makes you huff and puff after jogging for 50 meters you won't survive long on the battlefield. I write it despite liking that concept art. Let's agree that being fat is not healthy and making fat combat models is dumb. As a warrior you are basically spending most of your time on a road with short interludes of fierce combat. It's borderline impossible to get fat with that kind of lifestyle. It doesn't mean that all female should have pornstar anatomy (next to no fat except giant gazoogas, Everblight know its shit when it comes to mutations). I don't mind them at all but yeah... As we are already into this - normal female body naturally have fat in certain places (like hips). Still, if the model will be good, easy to assemble and the rules interresting I won't complain about Granny of Everblight.

What are we hoping for as to theme benefit? Maybe unyielding on all ogrun? It won't fix the survivability problem, but I'm still hoping for Rear Guard Mk3 with AD...

Her version of survival of the fittest involves eating people in order to cast spells, which those random human warriors whose lifestyle you're describing aren't prone to do.

Also roman gladiators build up layers of fat. Better to recieve a cut into fat, than muscle or bone. Medieval plate armor also isnt all fitted for body builders.
Its possible to be quite fat and fit at the same time xD

Everblight recruiting center
- "Sure mam, you posses exceptional occult powers and you are able to make a decisive impact on a battle, but as you can’t do twenty push-ups, your services won't be needed, sorry. Because, you know, if we lived in a medieval word without magic, you wouldn't survive long on the battlefield."

The thing with Gladiators and Sumo is that they fought in arenas for sport. They weren't required to traverse battlefields, march across countries, or chase down escaping foes. They simply fought their opponent in a relatively small enclosed arena. I'm not saying their can't be obese characters in this game, just that it should be a rare occurrence. If a powerful sorcerer shows up that happens to be obese, like Rasheth, I'm sure they'd be welcomed into the army with open arms, I just don't think something like that is likely to happen very frequently, just like I find it odd that 99% of the current female model line has the same lanky body type. I do find it odd that there's more women fighting that look like Sorscha than there are women that look like Dirty Meg.
As for theme force benefits what if they tried to increase survivability by giving all Ogrun 4+ tough?

4+ tough with rise would be nice. Not a lot of no kd in the faction tho.

4+ tough with the boomhowler rule that they don't lose tough while knocked down? Incidentally, I'd love to see something like that on boomies.

You've apparently forgotten the part where there's this thing in the setting called 'magic' and not everyone who is worth having in a battle is there for their physical fitness or martial prowess. It's the reason why 100-year-old fossils like Nemo and Severius are still on the frontlines. In case it's not blatantly obvious at this point, I'm going to assume Anamag is more mage than warrior.
