Don't just look, join in the CID process and provide usefull feedback at cid.privateerpress.com Will these ever get played? I could take a unit of sluggers instead of these guys...

I love them sooooooooooo much. I want them right now. I won't even quibble that they could be slightly cheaper.

This unit is one of the ones I'm not overly excited about but it might be a bit of a diamond in the rough. With ambush they can easily get into your opponents back arcs and actually hit things even without other RAT fixers. Alternatively I can see them being useful for running from the side of the board to mark target a pesky caster to help with an assassination run. Also they're cheap and any resources your opponent has to send at them to deal with them is a turn they're not dealing with your more important pieces

They look cool to me. I haven't done the math super closely on how well they would fit into lists, but I think any ranged list or caster would at least potentially want a look at these. Ambush with a good move speed + mark the target = 20" mark range from any board edge. Either Grim or Jarl would both love easy long range RAT buffs, as would a list with a decent ranged set of beasts. They'd combo nicely with our new WW too, and they should be in that theme if I recall correctly. It's a good tool to have.

I was wishing for a smaller unit option. Maybe 3 for 6pts?

Not sure if I'll play them but they look solid enough.

The immediate comparison is obviously going to be Cygnar Rangers, and these guys are more expensive, easier to hit, lack pathfinder, lower rat, and lower speed.
Then why do I love them so? I guess I'm in love with finally having a more broad way of fixing for the Troll ranged game PP seems so intent on pushing.

I think of 'em as waves of RAT-fixer whelps. Send the Leader and 1-2 grunts off to Mark (key) Targets, hide the rest for subsequent turns. Leader dies, promotion for this little pyg-ie who didn't go to Mark-it! (pun intended)
Also, CHEAP unit to Ambush into contest a zone, especially in Forest-ed areas.
Proxy 'em to try stuff. After all what else are you gonna use those Burrowers for?

Dude they have pathfinder like all the other pygmies. with ambush and mark the target they are rat 8 and come and kill support staff.
