Now I understand that SR2017 is right around (like a week) the corner and who knows what it will ultimately do to "I win 5 points because I time walked you) sort of game. But that said, during almost all of SR 2016 I played attrition casters. Some better than others. But almost all attrition - from Hark to an Attrition B3 build to Irusk2 when the new rule set first dropped. Attrition Attrition Attrition.
I want to dabble next in control. I GUESS Z1 would be our best drop right now for that - understanding that keeping her alive compared to, for example, Haley2 could be a LOT more problematic
Who else? Who would be your choice for The Summer and Fall of Control?

Butcher 3 is a sort of khador control caster. The type of control you have when stuff in a certain range get axe to face. But is treat range isn't was it used to be, so his control area is diminished.

Well, yeah. Z1 currently has the best control feat in faction. Sorscha1 can play a bit of a control game with feat and Freezing Grip, though against a lot of lists these days most of the models can shake it. Old Witch doesn't have the control game she used to, but still has some control elements in her kit. Irusk2 also has the control element in his feat with the speed debuff.
I think that pretty much covers it. We don't actually have any S tier control casters.

Irusk2 also has the control element in his feat with the speed debuff. Or you know, take Irusk1 and have his epic forms feat turn every turn situationally . Mein gott, it's like people forget he exists sometimes.

Go read up on stationary as a refresher. Units can't shake. Thats powerful to just nope a unit like that. She make our shooty stuff suck less as well so there's that. Back in MK1 three destroyer and her feat was a powerful assassination list. With the new +1Focus for Battle group jack I ran that list and it was brutal. Changed one destroyer out for behemoth recently. Zerkova1 is good as well but you have to tailor your lists more specifically to work well imo.

Khador """control""" is in the sad state. I mean Gallows and Strakhov's push are the only real control spells we got and that's it.
Out of existing options I'd pick Sorscha 1 since stationary is the least resisted thing among what we got. There exist army-wide immunities to pushes, knockdowns, slams and rought terrain, but very small amount of things can't be frozen by Sorscha.

I always saw Khador's control game along the lines of "kill them" or "destroy that one" or "screw it, I'll just kill their caster."
I'm hoping that that SR2017 gets away from the emphasis on getting control points and winning on scenario like previous versions of SR have done and allow for the importance of caster kill.
Not to be argumentative, but merely to make an observation, I find it funny how a lot of you guys talk about Sorscha1 as a control caster when I see her (and Sorscha2 to a lesser extent) primarily as our premier assassin caster.

That's noob talk, Sorscha is primarily a control caster and an assassin second. its like Butcher1 is a support caster first, not an assassin.

It's still much harder to control the table to the state where you can get 5 ahead. We will see how it all pans out, but I'm pretty sure 2017 is going to come down to death clock and assassination way more than currently.

I thought Grolar's knockdown only worked during its Combat Action? Originally I thought the same thing, but then realized the wording is more specific.

Growl is correct.
No watcher knockdowns. Use a Juggernaut and fish for the crit.

Cheape in points cost too! Still sucks that the Hammer knockdown doesn't always work. Doesn't make sense? Now my hammer kicks your ass and knocks you on your back! But now my hammer just kicks your ass?

But now my hammer just kicks your ass? It's because the Grolar needs time to change his beatbox to "Can't touch this." Zerkova keeps changing it to 80s power ballads.
