17 points. Arm 20. 38 boxes. Lost trample and shoot but now has the ability to make multiple impact attacks (extra dice attack rolls). on the chArge with 3 inch slamming at pow 14 for non impact attacks. Pow 16 cannon shots with aoe4 and craters left behind. Ring 10. MilitAry rifle. Auto knock down when hitting with mount attack. Interestingly the slam is not optional so a bit of skonergy with butcher 2.
As as with the others (haven't gone through them all) seems like a solid upgrade.
Vlads and and butcher 1 seems like solid options. I would think too irusk2 would could ffe and battle lust for essentially a massive clearing out of one flank. Out of wgi theme eyrss aloway good for disruption on things knocked down which is always solid. would seem possible solid as center piece of anti ghost fleet package if you include a and h so it can charge and impact blackbanes as well as rev crew.
thoughts?
Btw I am terrified of assination issues with storm strider. Least we can start shooting at it without worrying about power tokens so I guess that but nemo is going to love it as well as Haley2 abusing tk ing it fowward and tk ing you caster forward and then shooting you off the table

I'm amazed that the Gun carriage stayed the same as it's final CID iteration. I think it's a bit over the top. But that said, hello ghost fleet drop. Silence of death gun carriage and lawn mower through all the pirates.
I'm also incredibly disappointed the Ret battle engine did not see any defensive nerfs. Some very good players have been using the CID version of it for the last month and a bit and frankly it's broken as all heck and they agree. Having both carapace and polarity field makes it incredibly non interactive. It basically stays all game in one spot shooting things 16 inches away using it's boosted damage shot. You're not shooting it off the table, polarity field makes it very hard to close on without just throwing something away to run up to it, and you cannot ignore the work it does. It's also incredibly scary when the ret player forms a bunker with it and a hyperion, granting the hyperion another 2 rng. It absolutely should have lost one of polarity field or carapace before going live, I have no idea what PP was thinking. It's such a miserable piece to play against and it's honestly making me think about taking a sabbatical from warmachine. There is a lot of ret in my area and there are going to be double tick lists everywhere. It's a direction PP is taking the game which I really don't enjoy.

Very temped to run two of them under Vlad1 with a conquest, the huge bases are annoying but all the aoe and the two bowling balls will make for a real headache for infantry spam to deal with.

Yeah. Essentially that model screams "lets sell more centerpiece models." But it also is suggestive of an interesting shift with sr2017. There are going to be times where you essentially get upkeeps on your models and then run you caster away. You can not, for example, be within 16 inches of that thing in a game again Ossyn (2 pow 16 Four die shots will killl a lot of casters). The good news for khador is that once we get to the thing we have a chance to kill it and stealth again ret (outside of tinker bell) remains a thing.
Sadly just not convinced they are generating nearly enough data. The cid had something like a total of about 60 battle reports. Should have been twice as long to reallly understand impacts. Continues to feel like they are making this up as it goes along.
But hey....I ordered the new 40k box and I understand I can mix space marines and dark angels now. Fun times.

its linebreaker that makes crushing weight worth it. Otherwise even against def 12 the impact attack odds are only a bit better then 70%
Now impressive odds against a single target it really limits the odds of success against more then 4 troopers or so.
Making the impact attacks kinda impotent.

I like wags idea of putting Silence of Death on it. A successful tough roll could stop it from plowing through troops with impact attacks but SoD gets around that. POW 14 with three dice to hit should kill a lot of stuff.

Tough wasn't a big deal against it anyways because the mount is knockdown on hit, so they'd need anti knockdown tech to tough. Also I'm hearing war room is bugged, mine won't even open right now so I can't even check, but the fun carriage on the card database cards.privateerpress.com/ is identical to the final CID iteration. So it has crushing weight, linebreaker, and all that.

Well nevermind.
The developers notes state that it has linebreaker.
95% odds against def 12. Time to pop some infantry like bubble wrap.

I found the perfect image to sum up how it is going to feel to use this chariot.

My War Room doesn't mention Linebreaker but it does have Ton of Bricks which I think was the same thing? "A model hit by a non-impact attack with this weapon is slammed d3" directly away from this model. The POW of the collateral damage is equal to the POW of this weapon".
