Wow, that got heavy in a hurry...
Good article, though. As for me, I only ever get angry at my opponent, never my dice. Oddly enough that means I usually get mad at my friends when we play, because we know how to push each others' buttons. I'm much more polite to strangers...

God bless ya, man. Sounds like a rough path to walk. But thank you for doing it.
As for gaming, despite my argumentitive nature, I'm actually pretty calm in gaming environments. I've never rage quit, but have conceded games that were too far gone.
I started playing about a year before MKiii, and for that year of playing I lost waaaaaaaay more than I won. I probably had like 10 victories under my belt when the new edition hit. But I somehow never let it get to me.
I think it's because when I'd be losing hard, or had a string of really bad luck, or made a really bad decision, I didn't get angry. I kind of got despondant and less interested in the game. That came with its own difficulties, of course. I had trouble pushing through really hard situations, because I'd lost interest in the outcome of the game at that point.
Once I pushed past that tendency, I started winning quite a bit. And I had more fun as well.
You get out of this hobby whatever you put in. It's good to really understand that as long as the game was fun for everybody, then you can't lose. Because having fun is a win.

A recommended follow up article might be "how to handle when change - when a company starts changing the game I enjoy playing"

Seriously. I see people get so mad and tilted over a loss, a poor play or a dice roll. I hear people say they quit over some tiny thing they disagree with PP over... I got into the hobby cause the people were cool, the models look badass, the narative of controlling an army, the critical thinker/strategist in me goes nuts( after a long week of mostly communicating with a 2.5 year old all day). Sure winning feels good, but I can go to a tournament and go 0/3 and still have fun. Most of the time I take more away from a loss than a win anyways( in terms of progressing as a player). At the end of the day I can say that every trip to the game store is a good time.

Thanks for sharing. It took quite a bit of guts.
It's about perspective. In the end, Warmachine is just a game. Sure there are things I wish were different and yes, you can have a string of crappy dice rolls and stupid mistakes. Yes, you can have games with annoying people. But in the end, it's not life and death.
