Oh it's definitely not any good. I'm not that excited about the Ice Witches as a unit, they don't seem terribly exciting unless they're *really* cheap. Like 6 points cheap.

If the Ice Witches are supposed to be Dhunia Knot-esque they'll probably be about 6 points.

It'll help the Teraph a bit yeah. All the spell does is it allows you to re-roll, so if you miss an attack or fail to crit you can have another chance at it. Amusingly enough I think one of the better uses for the Ice Witches will be letting the Blackfrost Shard re-roll misses. 3 man unit following 3 man unit around the board should be funny. I assume an upkeep- and if that is true... I'm not sure if that alone really makes the Teraph awesome-sauce. Better than nothing though. I still think the poor guy needs something. The model is too awesome to be this little of use.

But as a former Cryx player let me ensure you: Puppet Master is totally awesome. It will solve SO many issues for Legion. I assume an upkeep- and if that is true... I'm not sure if that alone really makes the Teraph awesome-sauce. Better than nothing though. I still think the poor guy needs something. The model is too awesome to be this little of use. How should a model without a fury stat pay an upkeep? Nope, Puppet Master is a one-round spell which causes a single re-roll on either friendly or enemy model. While re-rolls are nice for any attacking model, it would be more for avoiding scatters than triggering fire on a single target. Imho it's not what the Teraph needs. What it needs is a better meta for him, aka more infantry. While we had such a meta during MK2, the Ravagore was a better option at the time. Now I feel like they are quite similar, basically a cheap and a expensive version. Even though here and there infantry heavy lists can be found, they're hardly worth it to include dedicated infantry-hate beasts imho unless your meta is uncommonly crawling with infantry.

Eh true - I think I need to read the spell. Just so I understand how the spell works would this example be accurate: Ice Witches activate... cast it on an enemy model... then at any point before the start of your turn, you can force a re-roll on a roll that model completes?
Back on topic... I don't know if the Teraph will get much play being a cheap knock off of the Ravagore. Or at least not for 10 points... maybe if, like you said, the need for Infantry removal becomes paramount. (I hear Ghost Fleet is a concern). I still think he kinda needs something but meta does change everything (*looks a the Neraph's on his to buy list*)

Luckily the card rules are free... just look e.g. for the Withershadow Combine or Dhunian Knot: cards.privateerpress.com/Latest list with Teraphs on discountgames: Lylyth 2 [Oracles of Annihilation] Succubus Naga Nightlurker Nephilim Bolt Thrower Nephilim Bolt Thrower Ravagore Ravagore Teraph Teraph Teraph Seraph Sorceress & Hellion Forsaken Forsaken Shepherd For such skew lists the Teraph definitly is good. Might work better when you participate in team tournaments, as you don't need to cover all the bases like with normal single player games.

Angelius charge attacks, anyone? I literally always boost Armor Pierce attacks with my Angels even if I need a 3+ to hit. I guess re-rolls will be helpful for saving Fury on boosting those near 100%ers. I suppose a caster like Vayl2 might really appreciate re-rolls as well when she's going for an assassination run. Attempting to tag a Warcaster/lock with that first unboosted Icy Grip can be pretty touch and go.

I have never participated in a Team Tournament... a skew like this for such a scenario sounds amazing. Hmmmm
