I was playing around with a Kharchev list today with 2 conquests and I was thinking about adding a couple of Kodiaks to the list. The idea here was to get the kodiaks to throw the enemy jacks into melee range of the conquests but I'm not sure if that's legal. I know you can't throw friendly models but can you throw enemy models towards your models especially if they are too far away to hit?

I believe you would just have to have the kodiak in such a position that you would have LOS to the Conquest. Then either when you do the power attack throw or chain attack, you would throw the victim at Connie as the target. If Connie was in range, 6 inches because Kodiak's STR is 12, then you make a melee attack to hit Connie. If you hit, then the victim would be knocked down and take a boosted damage roll off of the Kodiak's STR, once again 12, because it would be hitting a larger based model. Conquest would take a POW 12 damage roll too, but of course not be knocked down. If Conquest was not in range, the model would go 6" directly towards it and land there.

Conquest would take a POW 12 damage roll too, but of course not be knocked down. A larger based model doesn't take collateral damage.

@ Netherby - I had to look that up. It specifically stated what you said in the example of the thrown charger on page 47. Great catch! I had just reread the throws rule and totally missed that.

It's a classic!? Have LOS and throw stuff backwards to B3, Behemoth ... or Conquest. It's awesome.

And since it is hitting a larger based model it suffers a boosted collateral damage roll.

That's awesome.
Boosted damage and Connie doesn't even flinch at the damage. Awesome.

Which jacks can throw? All of them? Or only the ones who are not holding a weapon?

Jacks who have the open fist special rule.
It's basically all the jacks who have hands.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you still can't make a power attack on a charge? Or has that changed from MkII?
If so, then one of the advantages a Kodiak has is that he actually can perform a throw after charging. Plus of course he's not spending his focus AND trading an initial to try it. Plus because he's making a double-handed throw he gets to add two dice to his strength, giving him a much better chance of passing the strength test.

That is correct. You cannot charge and make power attacks. No charging head butts or charging throws.
However the Kodiak still has to hit both times to get that throw off.

I often chain attack kodiak targets back toward Juggers in my Hark list. It is sorta like "Here you go buddy. Have fun!"

There is also no longer the restriction that the thrown model has to move away from the throwing model or that it cannot pass over the throwing models base that existed in Mk2.
You just need LoS to the thing you are throwing it at.
