So with Primecast mentioning Beastwardens, a Hordes equivalent for 'jack marshals, I can certainly imagine that Agata would be one. And that certainly is an exceptionally exciting thought. We have pretty minimal Warbeast support and a model that actually interacts with them is pretty cool. That said virtually all our Warlocks are big on the battlegroup effects, so she'd need to be pretty exceptional to be considered outside of Company of Iron games. Fingers crossed that PP are learning from 'jack marhals and how rarely they appear. well if beast wardens are jack marshalls for hordes then it basicly opens alot of options. i mean, if agata is a 4-5 pt solo...then its still a better option then paying 15 for rorsh, especially if its just to add this one warbeast to your army setup. (i.e gator army wanting acces to farrow animi)

There's a fair few "ifs" there. We don't even know if a "marshalled" Warbeast will be able to use its animus, and Agata (assuming she is a 'beast warden, just because she's the commander of the starter set doesn't necessitate that she have any interaction with Warbeasts) almost certainly won't be able to so Rorsh would get you a second Primal turn by comparison.

I'd be pretty surprised if "animus" wasn't one of the drive options on the beasts; it'd just get unbuffed initial attacks that turn which seems well within balance. I could see them letting beastwardens cast it too as a special action, but wouldn't be surprised if they couldn't.

I'd be expecting that too, since otherwise the entire class of "animii bot" Warbeasts would never see play with a Beastwarden, but then... I really have no idea what to expect. Fury and Focus are pretty different so I'm not sure how Beastwardens should function to capture the "risk management" vibe of Hordes.

I hope we don't get one. Farrow casters all have battle group buffs and we don't need another option that is irrelevant to the faction. Change the witch doc croc to be a beast handler with field marshal undead. That would work fine.

A Beastwarden wouldn't need to offer that much to be worth taking with Midas, Helga, or Sturm and Drang. In the case the first two then my experience with Rorsh and Brine would suggest that all one actually needs to bring would be mobility to be worth it. And the only thing a Beastwarden's Warbeast couldn't benefit from on Arkadius would be the Feat, so I could even see a use for such a model with him, even if it couldn't quite match his threat ranges. Of course, I'm really just hoping that any Beastwarden we get comes with some real Warbeast support (ideally independent of its "wardened" Warbeasts). Targ is cute and all, but I'm happy to ignore half the abilities on the Beastwarden's card if it gives me access to a single good Warbeast buff

More importantly, Nature of the Beast means that I own six Razor Boars and I want nothing more from Company of Iron than to get a chance to field a list that looks like this:
4 point Beastwarden model -Razor Boar -Razor Boar -Razor Boar -Razor Boar -Razor Boar -Razor Boar Total: 25 points

that would be hilarious.
but all in all i think we need to wait and see how the beastwardens work before we can even make a guess of how valid they are.
that beeing said...i also hope they are gooing to Revieuw jackmarshalls again, because so far not alot of people have a reason to take said jacksmarshalls...(unless they are free....i am looking at you robot santa with behemoth)

after the facebook stream i think its fair to say that the beastwarden is not something agata has but its something you can give your commander via a Commander CARD upgrade.
soooo needless to say...
no beastwarden for us boys....atleast not yet.

Ah, yeah. "Agata gives Maximus a run for his money."
Currently the money that's being run for is a spot on the shelf next to all the other perfectly adequate combat solos that just don't do anything I need in my lists right now. Some mention was made of her wiping out entire units on her own, which would be impressive for a 30mm model with what is almost certainly going to be 0.5" melee range unless she has some truly spectacular combination of abilities. I suppose if she has Killing Spree it could theoretically combine with Overtake on Carver's Feat turn for 2" advances after each kill? Not sure how else she'd manage it.

That's pretty much what Maximus does anyway. 1 inch less advance but with a 2 inch reach. It definitely sounds like she won't be useful. I'm guessing she has to be a combat model because she's designed to work with the Company of Iron game first and Warmachine/Hordes second.

If anything the fact that she's a Commander in Company of Iron had me hoping for a big focus on infantry support, but it looks like they decided to make a new (presumably more expensive? Brigands are 15 points, if we assume the Company of Iron starter is 20 then she'll probably be 5) Maximus. And Maximus was already a new (cheaper) Gudrun, and is still too expensive for me to squeeze into lists. Anywho, consider my expectations firmly tempered.
Also disappointing is that it sounds like I won't be able to live my dream of just taking pack of Razor Boars with a Beast Warden as my army, due to the "everything is FA 1" restriction.
On the plus side the Totem Hunter feels like he's going to be utterly terrifying in this format. Tons of forest terrain, low model count, few boostable attacks, and access to powerful Command Card upgrades like Duellist. Hit and run through the trees for days and reenact Predator to your heart's content.

well to bad PP can't see these reactions, but yeah if she's a combat solo, it's probably not going to be worth it for me. Plus side, less money I have to spend

Killing entire units on her own? Well we already know 0.5" melee killing spree doesn't work so what are they talking about? If I wanted to do that just let me take a second Maximus with Carver.
