Hey guys, I'm building a list for Malakov2 and am looking for suggestions and general strategies to make it effective. Currently I'm thinking of using the jaws of the wolf theme and taking a handful of kodiaks for LOS blocking and map control as well as devastators for roadblocks. Accompanying the caster are 2 full units of Kayazi assassins with attachment and the wardog for parry and def buff.
The idea is making good use of Sucker! for survivability as well as Backstab for assassination.
Looking forward to reading your suggestions!

I will always suggest bringing durable solos so that he can sucker on to hard to kill targets. Makes sure they are there when you need them.

Jaws is exactly what Malakov wants. High mat infantry with parry to abuse his plans and a jack brick to abuse feat.
Take mechanics, they work very well with feat. Seers, mechanics and snipers can hang in the back to sucker. 2 full Kayazi units are too much for a caster that can't buff both units I think.
As for jacks I advise against Devastator since you're already hard to attack due to clouds and feat. Take Behemoth, Malakov lacks hitting power and can keep him very safe. Other than Kodiaks and Behemoth Juggies are always a good choice and Escort+Parry+Veil+Marauders can provide sophisticated assassination angles.

I have played 8 games with him and I firmly believe that success lies in Poison Pill. Here is my list Malakov -Behemoth -Juggy -Juggy -Kodiak -Kodiak (this maxes the theme bonus and just works really well IMO)
Forge Seer Forge Seer Full Kayazy with Underboss Eliminators Eliminators
Battle Plans: I tend to give myself stealth with sneak. You can vent steam and then walk into it. If you can get an eliminator on a caster, then dirty fighting + behemoth shots wins games. Throat cutter is always good when you can get it.
Sucker: if people can shoot at you every turn, then something else is going wrong. I tend to use sucker to cover a gotcha moment and mechaincs have repo and forge seers are hanging back as well.

I've played Malakov only once, and it was before the theme forces were out so I have no idea how he works. But I'd bu curious to hear your thoughts about the (probably terrible)idea I just had. Malakov in legion of steel Malakov Wardog (free) Destroyer Destroyer Juggernaut Juggernaut Maraudeur Iron fang Kovnik (Free) Iron fang kovnik Markov Great Bears Black Dragons +CA
I find the idea of putting a jack or beast on it's back with fighting dirty then carve out the spirit or cortex thanks to precision strike followed by reposition 3 out or reach hilarious. I might be going full retard though, please let me know if I'm going full retard.

I don't know if the above idea would make it when dice hit the table, but it sounds sneaky and fun as hell! I need to dust him off and get him going. The only problem I have with him would be lack of magical weapons.

How do you get off Throat Cutter? Having trouble finding a way to do it. With the loss of mk2 kill stroke I'm wondering how to use them.
