Looks like we get access to a new Trencher unit! Darklegacy ruling: cid.privateerpress.com/forum/rules-questions/21462-kingmakerBasically as the current long gunners, but with rat6, dougal's hit the deck as a minifeat, can pick columns, and reroll all their damage rolls. Other than with pMags for snipe; anyone see a good use?

Not if Soles gets his way, but it definitely looks intriguing, especially with Magnus 1 and Kell as a drop into Warmachine armies.

Darklegacy (appears to) clarify that Soles' comment refers to doggo, express team, etc. Ie, no changes to the current language of kingmaker. Apparently that's mentioned somewhere in the interview as well.
Slowly working through all the math for the rerolls. Vs Khador heavies though I believe optimal output is two full unit cra's, keeping any rolls of 7 or higher. This will average 18.4 damage, letting you scythe out a arm and cortex per unit per turn.
Entirely unassisted, they can come pretty close to shooting the hook off a battened galleon (avg 14/17) or an arm off a AS stormwall by themselves (14avg/15left,17right); a single shot from kell will finish the system. Unfortunately, the only grievous wounds in kingmaker is MacBain's sword.
Listing: Damiano+mariner+2 nomads, free orin/kell/stannis 2x Trencher long gunner+ca, Trencher Infantry+ca+1 rifle grenade 63 potential shots per turn. Infantry gum things up; between clouds and minifeat long gunners are safe at range as they cripple systems. Surefooted longgunners are just as annoying to chew through as infantry when the time comes.
eMagnus+Galleon+Renegade, Free:Orin/Kell 2x Trencher long gunners+ca, Rangers
Edit 6/9 changes: Assault change is *sweet* and is a meaningful buff for the Steelhead Cavalry! Tr.Longgunner changes: This was a sidegrade for cygnar, but a straight upgrade for Mercs. Go to ground gets you a turn of guaranteed cover against shooting. We can still pull off the untargetability trick via a buccaneer, which is often around to do the same thing to your caster. Not being able to move through each other isn't terribly relevant and go to ground lets them shoot over each other.

Assault change is *sweet* and is a meaningful buff for the Steelhead Cavalry! What's the assault change that I keep seeing everywhere? Can't seem to find a source (my google-fu fails me) Also: I dig it. Not sure if it'll knock the trencher boat out of the Damiano theme list, but I can see Magnus1 with a bunch of ranged dudes, knocking down the other caster and lighting him/her up.

Assault attacks now completely miss. They are never redirected towards other models in the melee, which is huge for the assault/flank combo.

How does that affect templates like the Buccaneer's net?

Should just go straight to deviation (no possible reassigning the center of the AoE like before)

How does that affect templates like the Buccaneer's net? Buc's net isn't a template. If you miss your Assault shot it just misses. Guns with AoEs are not affected since they never rerolled target if they missed. They just deviate like any other AoE shot.

Am I hallucinating? Didn't the net used to have an AoE? I'm seeing that it doesn't anymore, but I'm just noticing that too. Wow.

Also, new list theory that hits 60pts even... Damiano Mariner Nomad Nomad Talon (stall allows you to CRA a warjack in melee) 2x Trencher Longgunners+UA Trencher Infantry Kell Orin Maddy or Stannis

I distinctly remember reading something about how if you were close enough the deviation would be so small that it would auto knockdown...glitch in the matrix I guess.

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but might be a confusion about the Renegade's AoE and the Cephalyx Subduer, both of which have knockdown, and the Subduer even has a net.

Your picture is relevant! Unfortunately no, I only recently started running Renegades and I don't know a thing about Cephalyx. I'm just from the other universe that got absorbed into this one: knowyourmeme.com/memes/the-mandela-effectNeedless to say, Buccaneer's were much better there.
