Hey there guys and gals. So our local pub/game night is tonight and a buddy of mine wants to throw Harkevich at me and specifically wants to lay against Ghost Fleet so you can be sure he's teching against it. Im assuming a couple greylord forge seers and a bunch of jacks that includes Behemoth. Now i know Harkevich is a bastard when B2B with a Jack so what do you guys think my plan of attack should be? Im assuming im going to need to take out those Forge Seers ASAP to remove magic weapon Jacks. The whole Denny1 -> Scourge, Parasite trick isnt going to work because Hark can't be knocked down and goes up to like Def16 at ranged and Def18 in Melee because of the dog.
Anyhow, should i even bother with Ghost Fleet (ive only played it 3 times yet) or should i just be like Firetruck you im not playing Ghost Fleet into that, here's pSkarre and a bunch of Banes?

The only advice I would give is to hold your feat until his is over, if you use the Withering to counter his +3 arm there is no way you will win the attrition fight. just feed him a few crappy pirates and use all your Ghost shots to kill his support instead.

Remember that pistol wraiths can stationary marshalled Jack's and they can't shake it hark has no rfp too so you can play for long game as he can't do anything about the leaders.

Another thought is you can just move the jack he is b2b with away with a machine wraith then usual assassination run.

Hey folks! Just got back home. The game went well! His plan was run 4 of the jacks into my face which is exactly what i expected. This was good and bad for me. Good in that i knew i could just jam him for days and never give a landing spot for tramples. Bad because it trapped in some of the models i wanted for a turn 2 assassination run.
So turn 2 he feated as i suspected he would after jamming his jacks in my face. He left Harkevich on 2 and I thought for sure i could get enough shots on him to take him out so i put Denny in a precarious position (within 5" of 4 Jacks) and counterfeated (huge mistake on my part). Turns out i couldn't get the amount of shots i needed due to his Jackwall blocking a lot of my movement. What i could do however was charge a sniper he left sitting out in the open with my Wraith Engine and pop out a Machine Wraith that would be within charging distance of Behemoth who was B2B with Harkevich. So i managed to hit behemoth, turn him around and smack Harkevich for a decent 6pts damage after him spending a focus. I also got off 3 Riflemen CRAs and did a small amount of damage. It was at this point that i realized i would never get the Hellslinger or Pistol Wraith close enough. So i took out a repair guy with the Hellslinger and sat on the soul because nothing else was in range. I then jammed ALL THE THINGS around Denny. Leaving only a small space in behind her that would JUST fit a large base. I did this in hopes that he would take the trample bait and leave me a hole in the jack wall. It worked.
Turn 3 he trampled over lots of Ghost Raiders and Denny doing no damage due to a shit roll and me camping plenty of focus. The rest of his turn was inconsequential. He killed a total of 4 Revenants, did 5 damage to the Wraith Engine after missing some attack rolls. He also killed the Machine Wraith and my deathrippers (who were already badly damaged from Behemoth shots).
Bottom of turn 3 I had a plan. He failed to kill the Wraith Engine on turn 2. That was a huge mistake on his part. Now that his feat turn was over it meant Harkevich was back to his normal statline. I charged the Wraith Engine at a poorly situated Greylord Forge Seer, killing it on the 2nd attack. I then popped out another Machine Wraith and managed to take over Behemoth AGAIN. This time after moving him out of B2B with Harkevich i nailed the attack roll and did a whopping 9 pts of damage after the focus healing. This left him on 1 box. Then it was just a matter of a 3 man Riflemen CRA with Rengrave in the house, hit the attack roll and rolled a 9 on damage to kill him.
Thoughts: The Wraith Engine against a jack heavy list like this is killer. Chances are that Machine Wraith is going to be able to jump into a Jack and then be within smacking distance of a caster. Even worse for that caster when its Behemoth and his armor piercing fists. I think that without the Assassination this would have been a huge slogfest. Being able to just deny landing zones for jack tramples and then jamming them is crazy powerful. Thank you for all your ideas and suggestions guys! One for the Dragonfather!!!

I think Harkevich is a subpar choice into GF. He has that magic-shooting Behemoth but otherwise lacks hitting power = number of attacks to compete. And you have just too much incorporeal there.

Besides the feat that is actually how I (as a Khador player) envision this matchup going.
You won't kill all the jacks, but the weak spot in Harkevich list is always himself. He just dies to anyting with a bit of Assasination potential.
Depends maybe a bit on his Jack lineup.
When it comes to jackspam lists I want to try Strakov into GF some time, since he is pretty hard to kill, but I know now that I really have to watch out for that Machine Wraith interaction.
Generally speaking what you should expect are things like Butcher3 and both Sorschas. These are the things discussed right now.
P.S.: it's funny to write this answer and later hear about the game on TDH60M. I was just like oh! I know that situation from somewhere.

Hahaha. Thats awesome! Thanks for listening skathrex I totally agree about Harkevich. I think Strakov and Sorcha would have some game. I had a game against Butcher3 that ended with dead Butcher top of 2 but i think that may have had more to do with the skill level of my opponent than the actual army's viability into Ghost Fleet.

No Problem. I quite enjoy it.
The problem I have with Butcher is the you would have to play him in WG Theme (or he just dies) where his rfp is kinda hard to use. Will have to test it some more though.
Testing is quite difficult for me though since I am the only local player who has GF.
Do you see the Wraith Engine as a must have?

I've actually been testing it without the wraith engine and with nightmare instead and I honestly prefer nightmare in the list and just running 2 machine wraiths I have rarely found you need the extra -2 arm and not having a huge base in the list makes movement a lot easier but I do see the argument for it especially after it gets changed.

It sounds like the Khador Warjacks were trampling on Denny's feat turn, which isn't possible.
