I know there has been some chatter about doing it and I decided to give it some table time.
Makeda1
- Molik
- Gladiator
R&B
WE&SJ
Ferox (max)
Beast Handlers (min)
Willbreaker
Rhadeim
I played 3 games, won 3 games.
Game 1: v Krueger2 in theme with 3 Wyrds, Woldwrath, and the Battle Engine
I put Quicken on Molik to bait him to pick him off with Wyrds, and Molik unexpectedly died when my opponent rolled a 14 for damage on the final attack. Next turn he picked off Brine and Snapjaw, even under Starcrossed. Gladiator then laid into the Woldwrath, adding 4 more attacks from Jackhammer, and we pretty much called it when he had no answer left for a full heavy and he failed his assassination
Game 2: v Caine3 with Stormwall, 3 Chargers, Hammersmith, and Jr.
Once again, Molik gets picked off early, as well as Brine, leaving me with no answer to the ARM 22 Colossal. But my opponent left openings for 3 Ferox to land, 2 of which within 0.5". CMA + Carnage + Puppetmaster = dead Caine3.
Game 3: v Styker2 in theme with double Lances, O'Rowdy, and some other stuff
This game showed why it's important to kill Molik and Brine. I chose to go 2nd (a mistake) and he took out all of my Ferox through my feat and jammed me good. But I saw that if I could clear a path, Molik could walk from behind a forest, Side Step twice off of the objective, then buy attacks into Stryker2.
So to start, Brine, behind a Forest, ninja'd for extra movement around the forest and threw ol'Rowdy away. Rhadeim killed off two more Lances and walked away. Even Makeda1 went in on a guy, but needing to cast Carnage and Quicken meant she bounced off of her target. Ah well - 10" walking path mostly clear, still did the double-Side Step to get to Stryker2, bought 2 attacks, one of which used the Future Sight boost, and put him in the dirt.
So what did I learn?
1) Molik, Ninja-pig, and Ferox are a LOT of assassination threat that opponents need to be wary of. There's a lot for me to learn as well with regard to delivery.
2) I need to get much better at using Wrong Eye. He may be too slow for the list, as Star Crossed never really came into play.
3) ARM 22 colossals are a problem for this list, especially once Molik is picked off.
4) Mass amounts of Infantry are suddenly more difficult to deal with, given my usual Makeda1 build handles it more easily.
5) It's just really fun on the table.
