I bought 3, but until now I had no devouts (droopy metal spears can DIAF) and only one dervish. You'll be happy to know they magnetize super easily, there's a nice joint at the wrists to do it at and every weapon comes with a hand that holds it, even the shield. That's good to know. Because the kit is made from good plastic (instead of the usual stuff), I might actually pick some up and it being easier to magnetise is great. But I didn't know about the droopy halberd on the metal Devout.

Either way, I avoid that whenever possible.

I haven't had any issue with my metal devout oddly enough. It's my stupid dervishes who keep losing their arms. In the MkII rules for the purifier it did have chain attack combustion, they changed them before the model was even released. And it still looked boring in mkII. Yeah. Chain Attack combustion sounds cool, till you realize you have to hit the same model 3 times(and it must survive 2 pow15 hits). Which is heavily implying you are attacking a jack/beast. But then you also need a bunch of weak infantry within 2" of the purifier to die to the pow12 combustion(which isn't going to bother the jack you're been punching much). Again, it was a crappy ability trying to conform to PP's poor grasp of how Protectorate abilities should function.

So I've been thinking, and I feel like the dervish and purifier need to switch half their rules. Purifier needs parry and side step to run along a shield wall killing every other dude and lighting the heavier stuff on fire. Meanwhile, if the dervish is supposed to be a blender that kills its targets, it needs overtake and take down more than side step and parry.

For me if the purifier was the same cost as the dervish and gained ashen veil then I would take it. Def 15 from living models sounds awesome.
