I can actually get excited about this! Imagine that... a Jarl list! Lol
If SR17 goes through with the current rules Jarl's ability and spells keep my beasts out of melee ranges while dropping 5-6 pow 16s a turn. Could charge into scenario after ensuring attrition victory.

I have never played a huge base with Jarl, because that huge base can be seen through the feat clouds. Perhaps it is not so bad in reality as i think it will be, but it is a good thing to remember when you play.

Huge bases with Jarl arn't necessarily a bad thing. You just need to play them slightly to the side of the centre of the table and use them effectively as another cloud on feat turn.

I imagined clearing a lane for the MK and then using the clouds to let him run right through my pieces for an assassination.
A Mountain King could get into melee from 16" away in a crazy enough scenario that involved a quickened charge with two swift hunter movements. Honestly doesn't even seem all that crazy. Or imagine a spray going straight through a bunker with Weald Secrets on.
A Bomber could walk in, shoot, move back 2" with swift hunter and then reposition back another 3" with tact supremacy.
None of that seems particularly valuable at the moment, but when scenarios are more or less out of play in SR2017 that will become very difficult to deal with.

The MK can not move with swift hunter due to being a gargantuan

My goodness. So many rules! Lol. I hear the rules got far less complex with Mk3 and if that's true I'm so glad I didn't try to get started in Mk2.
So, what wording should have given that away? Lol

The rules didnt get MUCH less complex, but some things were cleaned up in the transition.
If you read the rules for gargantuans you will see that the "Gargantuan Movement" rules prevents them from moving outside their normal movement and can not be placed.

So they will not be able to use Goad from doomy1, overtake from madrak/doomy2, mirage etc. Likely hoof it from Grissel 1 also. That limits them from tons of things... certainly important for balance though I am sure.
Thank you again for clarifying!

I could be wrong, but you can Magic Bullet off of any one thing the Mountain King spray hits yes?

Needed a break at work so I cooked this up. Give a good idea of how much space you can cover with clouds to allow a King to charge freely. Please note you can squeak out more space with the clouds if needed, but this gives a good picture.
Models B & C would need to be dealt with in the example, but you get the gist of it.

Does the MK have to be fully in the cloud? I was under the impression that only the models it was moving through had to be within. In that scenario a cloud could be on each friendly.
So many rules to understand!

Opps, nevermind, totally miss read the feat. Nothing to see here! Haha. I totally understand. The rules curve is huge with this game. If I use my own models to clear 3-4 enemy pieces I could charge a good distance IF (and it's a big if) there's enough space to land. It's definitely situational at best.
