Just bought these beautiful ladies with their meatball (not sure what it is).
Was wondering what people run with them and if anyone has used and had luck with a kracken in their lists.
The feat gives the kracken something similar to stealth.
Been buying tons of cryx on ebay so trying to get a solid list out of them.
Just wondering ....thoughts
Thanks all

Their feat is the only thing in the game that I am aware of that protects it and infernal machine is great on it. But they also use almost anything well. I always like a harrower with them but a kraken works just as well and for the same purposes. Is it competitive? I don't know, I never go to tournaments except very small local ones.

Mostly just looking for a solid list to play against friends and maybe a LGS event every now and then. Have not checked out the Narrower, will take a look thanks.

Ever since getting to live the dream of sweeping through most of a unit with infernal machine and following it up by dropping a (now fully corpse fueled) 5" pie plate on another clump of dudes, I'm a fan

Coven are one of the best Kraken-runners in the faction.
He loves infernal machine, their feat can actually protect him, and they are one of the few casters in the faction who have the spare focus available to fuel him.
Add to that they have a surprisingly large toolkit for delivering him. With a bit of finesse (and an available landing spot), you can charge straight through two separate infantry units to hit an enemy caster 14" away with your kraken. Also keep in mind he has a ruthless turn #1 move that you have to respect: Top of turn #1, he runs 14". This gives him a melee threat top of turn #2 that is 3" outside of the enemy deployment zone.
So yeah, go nuts with the kraken on the Coven.

Honestly, the Kraken is one of the best 'jacks in the faction, especially if you can play the "keep the kraken alive" game. The Coven will certainly do that with their feat, and Infernal Machine is pretty great on it.

I'm totally open to criticism on changes to this list, I like erebus with them, and the siren is cause I doesn't know what to use 4 points on.
I mostly just use what models I own or will be buying.
I see top end tourney players use 2 full units of satyxi s usually. Is this worth it?
Thanks all

If you are having success with the list, no real reason to change it. As far as two units vs one unit of satyxis, like you I only play with what I have and I only own enough to field 2 minimum units of satyxis and a single sea witch. I have never used more than one max unit with the sea witch in any list. I can see it being a thing if you want to ask the question vs bring the answer, as spamming anything is definitely a skew that forces your opponent to have an answer. I like to bring a variety of stuff and be more of an all comers list, which is what you have, a little armor cracking, a little infantry removal, some def skew, some armor/boxes, up the field protection, terrain mitigation, strong spell support. Nothing wrong with that.

Any suggestions on replacements or alternative picks instead of the necrotechs or siren?....feel like maybe machine wraiths? But not sure how good they actually are. I have a chance to get some more raiders used really cheap, so probably will pick them up. See what other lists and casters like 2 units of demon ladies. But yeah so far loving cryx and someone told me to try Aiakos1 with 2 stalkers....so that sounds fun.

With a colossal, I like to have a necrotech. If you face a lot of warmachine opponents, a machine wraith is a good asset. A siren is useful in any list. Power booster or spray work against most things.
The advantage of machine wraith is also incorporeal, if they don't have access to magic weapons and the caster is not near, you can hold a zone indefinitely.
By all means, if you have the option to pick things up on the cheap, they are a good investment, and overshadow most other infantry options in cryx. I would rather use two units of raiders than a unit of raiders and a unit of bloodwitches. Though I do like the hag.
Aikos1 and stalkers are good, but take a high skill level to really learn well. They have stealth and are very fast, long threat range and with leap, can get where they want to go. Great for solo or problem infantry hunting. Sometimes even a good assassination vector for a warlock or caster. Though if you are using the coven well, they should not be too much of a stretch for you.
