Okay so a few things: If you don't plant to ambush with Kossites, you are better taking any other unit. Their point cost and stat line ensures this. That is not to say you should always ambush with them, but you should certainly take them with that being the plan. So you shouldn't really expect to be buffing them with anything less than a control area ability/feat. Due to the cost of Yuri, I would never include him. Yes, tree walker is an awesome ability. But Yuri is over priced, Man hunters are over priced and Kossites should be all dead before they get inside his command range. Take the free man hunters, but leave Yuri at home. I think I'll start another thread on that part of the Jaws theme which includes the stealth scouts, as we're drifting off topic. On this point, though, I'm in the camp that if you're bringing the Manhunters (for free) and Kossites, Yuri is too valuable to NOT include. In my area, we also play with some pretty ginormous terrain so having stuff that can charge through forests seems pretty golden to me.

I'v honestly never seen him be worth his points. I can see a world in which he was worth 6 points, but that world has Kossites with a better stat line and you're running two units of them

Amongst our stuff that needs to go to CID-rehab, I'll put Yuri-and-friends-Kossite-Edition on the list. Sure. Now, if Kossites had Pray, and Yuri and Manhunters had Ambush, that'd be a thing... (But this is not the CID, so that's just crazy talk).
