Well a casual google search tells me Amazon offers 300 lands for $13.
I wouldn’t be suprised if other stores offer similar deals.

Am I the only one that thinks that the frustrated locus solo for CoC looks like something out of a lady’s naughty drawer?

Given that I remember someone calling it 'the Thrildo' in their battle reports, I'm pretty sure you're not alone!

So anyway, a new-ish Warmachine local had her Skarre3 with her at the shop today. She’s been playing for about a year maybe. I saw it from a distance and said “Hey, Skarre’s looking pretty good!”
Her face goes stony and she instantly looks pissed.
Long story short: she paid a shady local mini gamer to paint it for her, and he did a shitty job. How shitty?
About half of it is “black”, as in, “the black primer is showing.” The wood planks are a lovely uniform “brown”. Like, not even a good rich brown or a shade of brown, but that nondescript default color that you can only describe as “brown.”
Skarre herself? She’s a unicorn, because he didn’t even glue one of her horns on her head..
As I understand it, it was returned to her with one of her pirate crew apparently broken loose off the deck. It wasn’t pinned or even glued properly, just glued primer to glued primer, and chips of paint missing on her skirt.
Just....wow.
He had her models for seven months, asked for payment up front, and this is the best he could do.
She was pissed, and I hope she gets her money back from that guy.
Like I said, shady dude.
Anyway, I couldn’t resist, and as she was leaving I said “It’s a Christmas miracle. Gimme that thing.”
“Huh? What?”
“I’m gonna spend like four or five hours on this, tops, and it’s going to look ten times better than it does now.”
“What? I mean... how much do you want to do that?”
“Nothing. Like I said, I’m just going to spend a few hours on it. Heck, fine, you know what, my price is that you need to play more Warmachine. I drive a hard bargain.”
So...yeah. I’m going to take some pictures and probably put a thread up somewhere. Local shady dude has hopefully just ripped off his last “customer.” Gah. This kind of crap annoys me.
Seriously. He returned this “commissioned” model in a state worse than what I would have considered “Here, let me do the base coats for you for free” on a hobby day at the shop. Geez.
Anyway!
Monsterpocalypse is fun. I hope the Wolves of Winter CID sticks because building an Unbound list for that is the first exciting Warmachine list building thought I have had in a few months.

Plot twist. He uses the model to make a mould to get a free skarre3. Not likely. But I need to try to figure out how to detach the “soul wave” from the poorly-done water effects pour on the base. It’s just sloppy, spilling over the base and just...not good. Seriously: this guy did a third-rate job and it makes me annoyed to think about charging money for inferior work.

Also, pics so we can internet shame the guy.

I’m proud of you, Michael. That’s quite an undertaking that most hobbiests wouldn’t mess with especially for free. I hope it works out well for both of you! 😉

Seriously: I was wondering why this player hadn’t fielded her new Satyxis army yet, and I guess “dude had it for 7 months” was the reason why!

I wish I had that excuse (well not really, but you know we hat I mean.) I'm just too scared to go out and meet the warmahorde gang at my FLGS. All my games these days are through vassal or TTS.

That looks like one of those hasty "must have it painted for tomorrow" paintjobs that all-too-often happen when there is a painting requirement.
