So im very much still a newbie will little experience overall. (Although my local meta has practiced with me enough times for me to understand the rules, and not clock myself out anymore. They are great!) I will list the items I own/can borrow at the bottom if your curious/want to make suggestions. I really am interested in your opinions of my pairings and how you would use them. If you suggest a list, ill truly appreciate a small run down of how it works (so I can get better at understanding what is what.) I have a great friend that keeps telling me to understand what each list I play with does or should do..versus me just filling out 75Pts (like I have been,) and then getting a little disappointed when I lose. MOST of this disappointment comes from the realization that ive been playing with non-effective/competitive lists against known comps. Anyhoo... My Pairings: Denny1 & Gaspy3 As of today, my choices are the following (ill explain what I think they should do underneath both of them, too:) (Deneghra1) Warwitch Deneghra [+28] [*]Deathripper [6] [*]Deathripper [6] [*]Leviathan [16] Aiakos, Scourge of the Meredius [4] [*]Kraken [36] Orin Midwinter, Rogue Inquisitor [5] Warwitch Siren [4] Cylena Raefyll & Nyss Hunters (max) [19] Satyxis Gunslingers [7] I feel this list is probably going to be my Warmachine Drop for the two SRs. Arc nodes will help me sling spells, and the Siren will help me ensure Denny has 5-6 focus a turn to toy with in general. Kraken will have the speed (ive only used him as a ranged option so far, less once Beasts/Jacks get in his face) and focus from Aiakos to see as much action as I command him to do. Orin can/will protect Aiakos/Denny from a Spell assassination or to get out there early and soften up some units. Gunslingers will hopefully help me establish a respected threat range or to introduce some feedback on a debuffed jack. The Nyss Hunters I assume ill use to tie up a few units and get as many as I can into charge distance to utilize their WeaponMaster abilities. (Asphyxious 3) Asphyxious the Hellbringer [+24] [*]Barathrum [15] [*]Inflictor [13] [*]Kraken [36] [*]Ripjaw [7] Darragh Wrathe [9] Satyxis Raiders (max) [16] [*]Satyxis Raider Sea Witch [3] Ive played this list three times so far, and like it into Hordes. The great local people that are trying to help learn/play competitive lists tend to like this. Barathrum is a beast, and while hes always been victim to an alpha...he can still hash out some damage. Darragh is super annoying into Hordes although I feel I have two problems here. Low model count and focus issues. Maybe I dont know how to manage things well enough, but Once the raiders are done jamming (how ive played them, maybe I need to change this?) im left with little to respond with. Krakens unicorn deals a strong punch. Ive seen it. Maybe I need to sit awhile and reason out what its meant to do.. ***Alternate Gaspy3 Option ive thought about*** (Asphyxious 3) Asphyxious the Hellbringer [+24] [*]Barathrum [15] [*]Cankerworm [9] [*]Inflictor [13] [*]Inflictor [13] [*]Nightwretch [7] [*]Stalker [8] [*]Stalker [8] Darragh Wrathe [9] Wrong Eye [17] So this list in practice just seems like an issue to manage focus with? Another possible Hordes drop due to Darragh? Maybe just march up the field and take my chances? Hmm.. Okay. What I own model wise or what I have access to for peoples curiousity. Warcasters: -Gaspy3 -Denny1 -Aggy1
Attatchements: -Skarlock Thrall -The Withershadow Combine
Jacks: -Cankerworm -Barathrum -Nightwretch x2 -Deathripper x2 -Ripjaw x2 -Leviathan/Desecrator/Harrower -Inflictor/Seether x2 -Kraken -Reaper -Slayer x3 -Stalker x2
Solos: -Aiakos1 -Bane Lord Tartarus -Darrah Wrathe -Hellslinger Phantom -Pistol Wraith x2 -Warwitch Siren x2 -Orin Midwinter -Ragman -Wrong Eye & Snapjaw
Units: -Bane Warriors + UA -Satyxis Raiders + UA -Satyxis Gunslingers -Nyss Hunters

Your first list looks like a good strong assassination list for a Denny pop and drop, and will be very match up dependent if you are going in against any immune to knock down folks, but with the feat and debuff you should be alright. The second list feels similar to the first, though maybe a bit more into scenario play with really hard to hit and jamming satyxis instead of run and gun Nyss.
Overall though, you have the same key pieces in both, but both lists have different feels. Good job, that is something I often struggle with, wanting to cut down on how much I bring to a tournament and fail to make my lists different enough so my pairings often have the same weaknesses. Can one handle armor and the other handle high defense infantry? Can one handle jack spam, while the other handle dood spam?

Can one handle armor and the other handle high defense infantry? Can one handle jack spam, while the other handle dood spam? I think im still trying to understand how pairings work. I was able to take one win over the weekend. Went 1-3, which is okay with me. I played two extremely competitive circle players, a former Press Ganger and a newer circle player with some seriously scary lists. Game 1 - Gaspy3 & WE/SJ (Second Gaspy List I jotted down, above.) Gave me a constant top three placer for my first match. Already 'lost' in my mind. My aim here was to impress him/show him ive been learning and listening to his teachings (as he has helped me.) I had the game won, until making a rookie mistake. I forced him to play super passively as he didnt want to feed me souls on my Feat turn, and respected the Counter Charges from Seether/Bathroom. Along with avoiding Star-crossed he played more passively that he normally would. He was down to his last 45 seconds. He passes turn, I have 8 minutes left, make some random moves. I have one flag controlled which would take me to 4 next turn. I notice im down to three minutes and just pass turn for the "Win." Major rookie mistake. I didnt move the four pieces near the other two flags and he goes from 3, to five for the win. Cant blame anyone but myself, but moving forward I know that I want to play scenario more against him and others. Game 2 - Gaspy3 & WE/SJ Combo - Not much to say here. Kromac2 (The one who shifts into his meanie form,) gets the alpha and literally smashes me off the board. I concede after talking out my options. He helped by explaining that I want to stay right outside his threat ranges next time to force a defensive feat, rather than giving him an offensive one. Game 3 - Denny1 - Go against the former PG which is really good, but just hasnt practiced much. He ran Lilith3. I just had lunch and was more of wanting to get done with it rather than have the proper mindset of learning/playing smart. Long story, I overextended Denny in order to hit his entire army with the Feat. I dont take much of anything out, but I was gonna go for an assassination attempt the turn after with Kraken from "Downtown." I overextended as mentioned, camped no focus and paid for it. Lilith missed 2 of three disruption shots on Denny, but the third meant game over as I was left for dead for a ranged kill from one of his Beasts. Game 4 - Gaspy3 & WE/SJ - Went back to Gaspy as I felt he made most people worry. I mismanaged WE/SJ and they fell back the entire game not being close enough at all for anything this game. My mistake. Im facing a double Woldwrath(? The big stone colossals,) and Baulder2 with a Megalith. He has two units of Stones/Maniquins which ive never ever ever ever..(get my point?) been able to deal with. I use mobility and get the left stone down with the double Stalkers on that flank, forcing Mega out to crush them. Im okay with that. Jam unit #1 down. I make a rush with Darrah on the second stone to the right. He does what he does and removes it neatly. He now is in a spot to threaten Baulder from behind the Two giant scary rock dudes, in a turn or two. I feat, and get 8 souls. Not as many as I had hoped for, but it was something, considering that at this point my jacks were being used as jam models to buy me some time to figure something out. I know that I sent them to die, but maybe something would open up. I was going to move to get a Control point post feat turn. Baulder decides to come out from behind his wall of rock and expose himself just enough that Gaspy could charge with 15 focus, mobility, & a 2" reach. He wanted to get some CP's as he was pressured to get some previously due to a ranking outcome variable. That spelled doom, but came down to a roll of double sixes for the win. I like Gaspy, but feel that while the Denny list can do work...I need some help with it.

Try combo Satyxis Raiders + UA and WE/SJ right behind them/ It should be nearly to impossible hit their 18 def vs shooting and 14-16 def in melee with re-rolls. For denny: 1)try aiakos + seether + stalker combo. It gives you nice 12'' threat range with a heavy and 15'' threat with stalker. 2)kraken seems good, but you can't really protect it from shooting or enemy gargantuan, and it sometimes struggle to kill a single heeavy. If you still take him - ge a source of dark shroud: ragman, banes or tartarus. 3)denny1 is really weak against heavy shooting lists - don't take her if you might face strong shooting list. Better take gaspy instead. 4)Try to fit in a Hellslinger.

On the topic of Sentry Stones. With Mobility, Cankerworm threatens 11.5" and Barathrum 12", both can easily eat a stone and both get to reposition (8" and 5" respectively) to relative safety.
I will echo the Raiders suggestion, you can spread them out through your lines to project Ashen Veil around your jacks as well. I played the Kromac 2 matchup (although the one that shifts is Kromac 1) and he basically couldn't hit me reliably, and when he did, I still had Unyielding and Mortal Fear to blunt the attack. Bait him with a jack or 2, take alpha, counter with the rest, taking out a beast or 2, and feat. By then it's basically good game, because he has to commit to do anything, leaving Gaspy on 20-ish focus.

Always tied up or something. As for using a jack to take out a beast..I must still be THAT new/terrible. I cannot take out a beast 1v1. Warp Wolves, Loki..or anything other Circle beast (any beast or jack honestly) can 1v1 a jack or mine or 2v1 in a single turn. Ive seen it. I charge...Take out 12-15 boxes at MOST then just wonder why I cant do better. It must be me, lol. I like this suggestion though. Ill have to figure a way to fit it in..Gaspy just likes jacks, though...hmmm...

Calamity helps. I also play Deathjack in addition to Barathrum so I generally don't have issues with hitting. Inflictors are good, and durable, but I always find them a little pillow fisted. Stalkers are also good, especially threatening with Mobility, but they don't hit very hard.
With your list, I would consider dropping an Inflictor and the Arc node for the Raiders. Also perhaps swap out the other Inflictor for a Seether, Less durability, but a lot more hitting power, but it's down to personal taste.
