Joining a little tournament at my Friendly Local Game Store and it's a 15points tourney.
Just wondering what you all would bring.

Goreshade 1 at 15 points is pretty dirty pool, haha. Yes, definitely go jack heavy with his shadowmancer spell, he brings his own banes. At that point level, you will mostly be fighting battle groups, maybe a unit or some small support. So armor cracking is what I would expect to aim for.

take tartarus for mat increase for banes. take a seether for killing. take something with medium bases to screen from heavies charge/trample maybe a slayer for playing "guy who dies first" role

I think the Siren is a good idea, Goreshade tends to be pretty tight on focus overall. Once you cast Shadowmancer, you've only got 4 FOC left to allocate out to your 'jacks, so, you can't necessarily get a whole lot done.
I think you may really want to consider taking a minimum infantry unit, like Mechanithralls / Carrion Thralls / Blood Witches. The reason? Soul Gate is liable to be huge in this format because it will allow you to cheat piece trades.
I might try something like this:
Goreshade1 -Deathripper -Seether -Seether/Reaper/Inflictor (depends on your meta) Siren 6 Carrion Thralls

Seethers for the stompy goodness. Ripjaw for fast punishment. machine wraiths to set up your seethers or even to use your opponents jacks against themselves. plus outside of ret and warcasters they could be a problem to deal with. Scrap Thralls and soul trapper for soul gate targets.
between hyperagressive, soul gate, and machine wraiths it should be pretty hard for the. to keep you a distance and tough piece trade.

Scrap Thralls and soul trapper for soul gate targets. So real quick, I made the same mistake - Soul Gate changed between editions, it has to target troopers now. No more Scrap Thrall portals I would like putting this in Infernal Machines though. For Soul Gate vs. Banes, personally I would still take the thralls because I don't want to waste my feat banes (which are often a free heavy) to save my heavy. Basically I'm trying to spend points to net two heavies instead of one. I just don't know where I'll end up taking the banes, I would hate to feat them and not really be able to use them as targets because of an order of activation issue, or a placement issue, etc. It's less about killing the one Bane Thrall and more about wanting to use "Surprise! Banez2face!" as effectively as possible.

Good catch! i havent played goreshade1 yet in mk3 and totally overlooked that. Should have slowed down and read the spell list.

i would go with the carrions over the mechanithralls with their increased mobility, built in stealth and they can roll huge spikes with charging finisher with dark shroud from banes.
