The Firefly is great once you actually have electrical damage types in the army....so, Storm Division. The Sentinel (and by extension, the Cyclone) have never been all that favored. Too many people see random ROF as a bug instead of a feature, and blah blah blah etc. and so forth. Great to hear that you've used the firefly. Could you please share some lists that you've been successful with that make use it? Similar note on the sentinel and cyclone. I have used all these jacks and ended up frustrated in MK3 due to the narrowness of their niche, lack of ability outside that and the occasionally underwhelming usefulness even within that role. Please share something you've had success with that makes use of them.

Well it seems that the subject is dead, although I feel sad to see that the lists competitive lists provided show only a single Cygnar heavy between them (Gallant is a merc officially) and a character at that. In fact there are as many khador heavies in Cygnar lists as there are Cygnar heavies. Which conveys something to me. Whilst there is general agreement that the centurion is a solid jack it didn't make it to the lists shared here. I'm left rather disheartened and morose. The lights do appear popular, also it seems clear that the firefly and sentinel to not count among the favoured. As I said earlier, why we are bothered to use one or more Centurion(s) when we can get a colossal and put Arcane Shield on it? It's the competitive lists, so they want to do their best. Although it can only exist in a place per a time, Colossals are very cost effective and its ranged attacks means it does not requires to be close to the enemy all the times.
I think that you will see the Centurions only after ban Stormwall, Hurricane and Journeyman Warcaster. In this case it would be almost our only choice of heavy, though.
And it seems that Flame in the Darkness, the theme that lacks Journeyman Warcaster, is the dominant theme of Cygnar, and the theme has limited numbers of Cygnar/Khador warjacks as well. Firefly have its role, but you will know that you will field it only when you need for Ionization. And how much times you ever need for it? I don't think that you never had a situation for it, but if you don't have a list with focused on lightning ranged attack you don't ever need for a Firefly either. Perhaps it is the cheapest flanker for Sword Knights, but are we used them much?
Sentinels? See below;
The Firefly is great once you actually have electrical damage types in the army....so, Storm Division. The Sentinel (and by extension, the Cyclone) have never been all that favored. Too many people see random ROF as a bug instead of a feature, and blah blah blah etc. and so forth. (emphasis by mine) This, this and this. Why you are bothered with random ROF? It never grants stable number, which means you never rely on this. Even if you get the steady numbers of shots, you still need an attack roll per each shots as well as you can't expect enough firepower against the infantry either. Even if killing non-Shield Wall infantry in range is what you want. Sentinel provides d3 shots for 8 points and Cyclone provides 2d3 shots for 13 points, but even with maxed 3/6 I doubt that it is enough shots for such points. Especially for it's only work against infantry, not armor.
I bet that Trench Buster or even Morrowan Battle Priest would be the better pick if you want Shield Guard.

And you know that, Cyclone is effectively removed from the game since Warmachine: Colossal. The new edition make it even worse, for Cyclone can only makes one Covering Fire for now but Stormwall makes two, and Stormwall can do much more than two Covering Fires.
