My enthusiasm for the game has been on the wane (due, mostly to lockdown) but it was nice to read your article and the intent on how best to use it. Darius has never interested me personally besides my default curiosity towards underdogs but I can certainly see how well he might do in brawlmachine. Anyone who can provide infinite solos has to be worth at least a look!
The piece did leave me with a couple of questions;
Do you have a plan for refuge? It's a grand spell and you've several excellent targets for it but you don't talk about it at all in the article. You have pretty limited volume of attacks and did not mention how you plan to deal with opponents much greater numerical superiority. Your only unit is of field mechanics who are great for fixing chip damage but cygnar jacks don't typically survive contact with the enemy. What are you plans against Cryx (for example)?

I think Thorn would be a great Refuge choice I think a lot of brawl machine lists lack volume of attacks and models. I'm not really sure on that point this was just theoretical tbh I haven't played him in BM yet

Definitely agree that Thorn is a good target but do consider the charger and Darius himself for the spell. Darius has a pretty impressive gun and you just need to clip a model to trigger refuge so he's likely to get to move back to safety. Charger speaks for itself because 2 shots mean it's very unlikely to miss completely.
I do rather miss playing tabletop games...
Good luck for when you do get to put theory into practice.
