Well according to week 2 Dev notes Scenario is the way of the dodo (relegated to tie breaker) Attrition and assasination is the new way to play. What casters do we think can pull this off. I'm leaning towards: Baldur1 and 2, Wurmy, Tanith, and stubbornly going to try Mohsar (Sigh*) Thinking BoO theme is going to be used more to help us with attrition. Think Khador is going to be mostly an auto loss unless we get creative. Think In general we are gonna have a rough road ahead of us

I'm going to need to get in more games with Circle (and against Khador in particular), but I keep hoping the new scenarios will force them to spread out a little to cover the multiple zones so that I can still grab a few stragglers and work at them from the edges with hit-and-run before going in for the final assault.

I've never been the best scenario player so this might be right up my ally. Finally people won't laugh when I drop Morv1. As far as auto loss are you referring to the amount of armor they drop? In my case I'd just hope to swamp them with sticks and tharn bodies hoping to open up a lane for someone else. While not the best strategy, (enemies playing super passive) nothing beats getting a caster kill during feat turn by throwing enemies like grenades.

Lol But in context of the SR2017 we can't attrition out vs 8 or so Khador jacks. I'm still trying. I am going to convince the local Khador player to take a Harkevitch list with like 8 mauraders and some Juggies. My Mohsar list will challenge it and try to emerge victorious!

Mannnnn good luck with that. Throws and slams into salt pillars blocking return routes would be my plan. No idea how to deal with that. At least sunhammer and your feat will feel good. Again good luck.

Still think salt pillers should entomb guys but what can you do. I wonder if having the flags or zones set up in more of a diamond shape would force more aggressive play.

I predict they'll have to reverse course on the shift towards attrition and assassination. Their game is balanced around objectives being a viable strategy. They cannot drastically change how the game is played without rebalancing everything.

Well, you are not alone on the Mohsar subject, I am still trying him and my Kromac1 list work. I believe that what is hurting me more is my lack of experience, and feel that I have a chance if I play them correctly. We'll see in the next few months.

Lol The first step is learning how to not get assasinated (which is way harder than other casters) then it's mastering spell application (I'm still working on this) and Finalizing lists (also still working on this) he's...a lot of work but incredibly rewarding and your meta will love you for playing him at least mine does lol

Lol we've somehow slipped into another Mohsar thread!
Played a few games and really really don't like it, but as with all these changes I'm just trying to keep a level head and be patient. The scoring options felt static, we both were scoring a lot but nobody winning. Also it's annoying to remember what turn it is.
This also seems like another chance to plug morvahna 1. I will say that most of my wins w her come on scenario and she eventually gets overrun, but I think she is really strong into what could be more gunlines. Recently went wolves theme with double reeves and double wolves (you can keep the woldwrath anchor!). Ambush seems huge with these spread out scenarios.

I do like the idea of Morv1 into SR2017. If attrition really is the name of the game she has the tools to play that game. Let your opponent waste their attacks on a regrowthing unit + an armor buff to make things that much more difficult.
I might have to test that out after the SOO.
