Hi all, I've been getting back into the game and I was wondering what the current lists to beat are. I've tried conducting my own research, but couldn't find anything newer than last summer. In addition, the meta/or bread and butter lists or strategies for each of the factions would be nice too.

Great timing, as someone just did a big survey in the community about (perceived) balance. Infernals, Mercenaries and Protectorate are top dogs. CG, Ret and Trollbloods dangle at the bottom, but I think it's mostly for a lack of variation in list building that is causing people to burn out on them. Trollbloods are currently in CID though, so that might change soon-ish. Many things are playable and most factions have some interesting pairings possiblities.

Is it anywhere we can find it ?
Here, in Poland, it seems nobody plays nor has been playing since March, not counting occassional War Table game. No events whatsoever, hence, no meta.

Sorry, I embedded the link in the text, but it's really hard to spot on the "light" post background I suppose. Here it is: knightsmachine.com/blogs/general/2020-survey-data-analysis

Thanks for linking that write-up. It feels weird to me to leave the game when SWI were in the downswing and comeback to see them in some of the top lists. How does the article compare to your (former?) group's meta? I don't think anyone locally has Infernals so I have yet to face their horror, but Mercs do have a noticeable presence.

I think the lists where Single Wound Infantry perform well are those where they get the best support (Throne/Alexia in FitD, Aurora/Hypatia in SBF) and where they have their own delivery mechanics (Blood-Bound, Vengeance, Tough, Blade Shield, etc.), so basically the same as it always has been, but the kinds of lists you face have just shifted. For instance, in Cryx, Banes are no longer "good enough", while Scourge of the Broken Coast can still manage to bring some infantry because they're decently fast and perform a vital role in the list. Similarly, in Khador, you('ve never) see(n) Legion of Steel, but Wolves of Winter still does fine.
In short, there's a lot of infantry hate right now, but some lists can just push through it, or can stand well enough on their own to make it worth it, just as it always has been, I think.
