Friends, RNG 6 animi are back. Stone is getting its cost reduced to 5/7. The theme benefit for Vengeance of Dhunia is Attuned Spirit [Trollblood].
This was dropped a few days ago on the Discord, surprised no one's shared it here yet!

Edit: Okay, that's harsh. More honest answer is I'll wait to see what the rules release says and then what makes it through CID.
Range 6 animi is just them admitting they f'ed up and Trolls have been unfairly punished for...two years? in mkiii, so whatever. As far as theme benefits and even VoD in general, I need to see more before I am willing to be impressed by anything.
Stone change is nice, and also long overdue. Should be 4/6, like Choir, but I'll take 5/7.
I'm much more interested in the changes to Madrak3 and Ragnor and if they can now be leveraged into play somewhere.

Honestly we can all have our idea regarding the upcoming changes. Rng6 on certain animi is like Grim1's feat just a dial back to MK2 - is that bad not really. Just shows that what we had back then seemed to work, and the MK3 approach of limiting the Animi (and adding a bit of fury to some warlocks) wasn't the right way to go with the faction.
As for the stone 5/7 - hmm would have loved 4/6+3UA - but 5/7+2UA is also a possibility we honestly don't know yet. Maybe even different cost on the UA. Could imagine Cold Elder was 3 and Normal 2 that would adding points in some themes that needed a bit more. I think there are potentials here.
beside that we know Dhunian Knot is being looked at as is Horgle1. Both I feel really need to be redesigned. having said that Knot provide puppet master which is always good and I have been thinking of running a unit in PoD where 1 adds puppet master and the other 2 heals Dhunian Archons every turn to "extra" use Archons sac ability

This sounds great! Where to find the original source? I am super happy about the stone, because that would be the one thing that I would have changed if I could have changed something about TB!

All on the Warmachine Discord, which means you’d have to scroll back aways at this point

Mk2 didn’t have Storm of the North releases or themes in general. It didn’t have archons or Hermits or the cold stone, etc. Approaching it as though we’re going back to the way we were in Mk2 just isn’t useful because the game is completely different, from faction to meta. The animi change alone will be the biggest change to Trolls this edition that changes both our number caps and list-building in massive ways. Triple light battlegroups are about to see a big comeback

This is all exciting, but I really want to wait for more details before I make any judgements. No point in getting too excited yet.

It wasn't said specifically. Just light beast animi back on range 6. Could be all, could be one.

I believe Flaming Fists was implied to be one of them. Faye mentioned a Champion doing something with Flaming Fists.
I suspect Snipe would not change because it exists in other factions and that would be a pretty large change. Mammoths and Archangels getting access to Snipe is something that would need its own testing.

Getting Flamin Fist and Acidic as a range 6 animi would bring as a along way from having to play mauler. And working on non warbeast would be cool - ability to buff every model to hit like track was one of the things that draw me to play trollbloods. On the other hand - maybe we would start playing Horthol - he under Azzazello/Ragnor is tough nut to crack and a casual extra +2 to demage rolls seems like fun

Even without the elder reducing as well. I think the stone change is very likely to stay, so I think this is great! I am not attached to all these light Beasts personally, I started in MkIII and was simply happy to ignore all elemental lights so far... I think this is very good news for everybody still owns them tough. Whatever light is getting the change, probably keeps it!

I wonder if the primal archon will be allowed in VoD. He would be a good target for flaming fists. Flaming fists will also increase the value of the brawler considerably.
Lightning fists being castable on bears or a war wagon has potential too ...
I really hope they make winter coat and swarm castable on anything.

It is the Wurm Archon, so it's kind of off the table. Dhunian will be there for sure. I wonder how the theme will play in contrast to PoD and KC. I just love how trolls slowly get cheaper on many ends. I think we are comfortably getting into a spot, where we do not overpay as much, while the support keeps our pieces strong and reliable.
