[Kozlov 1] Lord Kozlov, Viscount of Scarsgrad [+28] - Devastator [14] - Kodiak [13] - Marauder [11] - Greylord Adjunct [4] Gobber Tinker [2] Greylord Forge Seer [4] Yuri the Axe [0(5)] Kayazy Eliminators [5] I feel like 8 points of support models for basically 2 focus might be a bit much in low point games? If you take hocestbellum's advice and sub in a Juggernaut, then you probably won't need the extra focus as much, allowing you to swap out the Forgeseer. Also, we were discussing a Spriggan earlier: bulldoze and 2" reach can potentially make the most of Jackhammer as a threat extender (trample plus repo gives 10", equal to a running Kodiak, but with bulldoze and extra inch on the weapon range). It absolutely is. 4 points for an empower bot is already bad, but it is even worse when you only have 25 total army points.

IN MY DEFENSE, it's also a scoring solo that can't be trivially removed from your flag. I'm not saying it's a good defense...but ok, switch him with the WMM or soon Old Grym.

Hard to fit in because we lack cheap lights to hand off to our Jr's The thing is that his new rules make him a better battlegroup caster, but the threat ranges on his jacks still aren't that great*, so I'm trying to figure out if maybe he actually needs S0's threat extension to really work? Probably not in BM I guess? *Well, they don't feel that great to a Strakhov main like me...

If you bring enough ARM, you might get away without her (I hope). My experience with BM has so far been that the opponent struggles to reliably take out all the boxes, especially if you present ot all at once. With ARM22 that only becomes more true. As such, not alpha-ing feels better than with SR.
Of course there are exceptions like when you find yourself opposite Rask with a Wrastler who eats heavies for lunch.

I think S0 would be very good with him at 50-75 but at 25 you probably rather wants something that does work itself and doesn't need a jack, like Grim, a Marksman, Yuri2, ect.

I played a fair amount of games with Kozlov when he first came out, and always came out feeling that he just couldn't keep it going throughout the game. I think the changes were great and give him more tools to be relevant through the game. I don't think he's an S-tier (or even A-tier) but he's definitely playable now.
I decided last second to join the next Brawlmachine league, and figured it'd be great to try him out. I'll be running this list:
War Room Army
Khador - BM Kozlov1 Wolves
Theme: Wolves of Winter 25 / 25 Army 15 / 40 Specialist
Lord Kozlov, Viscount of Scarsgrad - WJ: +28 - Spriggan - PC: 17 (Battlegroup Points Used: 17) - Marauder - PC: 11 (Battlegroup Points Used: 11)
Void Archon - PC: 8 Koldun Lord - PC: 4
Doom Reaver Swordsmen - Leader & 5 Grunts: 10 - Greylord Escort - PC: 3 Greylord Ternion - Leader & 2 Grunts: 0
SPECIALISTS Fenris - PC: 8 - Fenris (Continued) Orsus the Chained - PC: 7
THEME: Wolves of Winter ---
GENERATED : 11/26/2020 10:43:57 BUILD ID : 2099.20-03-03
I still think overall the list is better with Vlad2 but I'm excited to get a caster off the (virtual) shelf. I paired it with Zerkova1 Flames to give me an out if they have a ton of shooting but I'm hoping to just play Kozlov.

I decided to run OW1/Kozlov in our new BM league. I seem to default to OW1 because my Kozlov list appears too jank to be good (3 jacks, full uhlans, Sofia).
I've never played OW in regular games but, so far, I really like her in BM. Three main reasons come to mind:
* FEAT: The BM scenarios (more round zones and flags - both of which have to be scored by more vulnerable models like units and solos) really make her feat shine. In some scenarios, you can block off multiple elements on feat turn. This allows you to push up aggressively and dominate scenario play. Add in my beloved Devastator (one of my favourite models in BM) who can just randomly contest another element (I generally just run him up to the enemy flag) for multiple turns and you are in a great spot.
* MURDER OF CROWS: Also, Murder of Crows is great for blocking LOS. This might sound like a big DUH, but with fewer models in BM, there's fewer angles left for your opponent once you place MoC in a smart place. It's just been such a great spell. You can also do cute things like placing MoC on top of a flag so that your opponent can't score (I've seen quite a few more vulnerable solos in BM who are not keen on risking a POW8 to score that point). In combination with the above, scenario wins just become so much easier because you potentially just deny your opponent 2 points a turn (Devastator + MoC on flag) plus the effect of your feat.
* SCRAPJACK: Lastly, although I wasn't convinced by Scrappy at first, I do love him now. He has a solid threat range (13") and the number of models he can kill because of his two initials, Berzerk and Overtake is super solid in BM (lower model count). The fact that you don't actually piece trade with him because you can yoyo him back is amazing. Also, him just having Prowl, especially if you have a MoC you can put down or have the Adjunct around is great.
I don't think the above is anything new (although it is for me because I never played OW1 before) but I think the strengths of OW just really work well in BM and the larger the game, the less impressive they become. I definitely recommend you give the old lady a try. Really fun!

PP have just run an Insider on Brawlmachine: See hereThough it was pretty great! It can't be too common for companies to run pieces on unofficial formats, can it? Especially ones so effusive in praise.

Just tells you how great the format is! I think Will Hungerford actually has been following this for a while, he was on LoS when they breifly talked about Brawlmachine and he mentioned in another Podcast that he talked with the guys about the banlist (and how PP cannot do one officially, but they could). I mean the scenarios + FA:1 (and bandlist) are what makes the format great! Its very easy and elegant!
