So long time lurkers know that Squee, a great forum poster back on the old board (and some of this one) hailing from far off tropical lands, used to run the Binki brigade with Butcher2. Great list. Hugely fun. Way outside the netdeck meta. Painted like the BOMB and just a great fella in the interweb.
But sadly B2 got nerfed in MK3 and the Binki Brigade ran no more.
I have run a variant with 3 clams in B3 and generally like it a lot. Not necessarily the MOST competitive but fun. Kinda plays with the idea that the resources to kill a closed up clam is precisely what Butcher3 wants to see close to his front lines. Been playing it for more than a year.
But lets mix it up. Give me your favorite clamjack list (you can include Spriggans but lest be honest, they are sub-clams - sorta like mussels). Minimum of 3 but you really should go for 4. Try to make it competitive in the current meta so have some THOUGHTS behind it. Address one of the biggest challenges in that they really want to be in Jaws but the best defensive tech for them in the meta right now is to run right in front of Supressor tankers putting down the hurt to charging weaponmasters.
As long as we are stuck inside lets netlist.
Oh and I THINK the right approach is find something that you want to DELIVER close to the caster and then go KILL IT with Prejudice.
A while back I was thinking of running a list with Vlad 1 and a bunch of Devastators as an anti-shooting list. The idea was that they would run 8" up the table each turn in a tight hexagonal formation with Vlad in the center casting Wind Wall and Blood of Kings (so he could walk 8", otherwise he wouldn't be able to cast Wind Wall). Then when they got close enough he would feat and the jacks would go into stuff.
I'm pretty sure it was a dumb idea. I settled on Destroyers instead for a big shooty(ish) brick that's immune to non-magical shooting. Never actually played it though.
Correct, because Combo Smite is not a power attack.
But I wouldn't like to put a POW 20 combo smite into the back of an ARM 23 model. That seems...unwise.
Ah, right. Yeah, it's not great, plus the distance is unpredictable. Maybe you could finangle something with an ARM buff; I guess under Strak 2 you could start with Fail Safe then swap to his speed buff - or maybe Last Stand if the distance roll was good enough, since this is probably a hail-Mary anyway.
