Might give it a try tonight. Might give me a chance to try out Bearka2 (which I own, but don't own most of the right models to get much use out of otherwise...)

I looked at this idea, but can't find it interesting.
I mean trying FA:1 is cool idea, but I don't like other restrictions. And if that is supposed to be for new players, just don't use themes + requisition points.

Im really hyped for it. My little meta will have a one-evening tournament using the format in the near future. All veteran players, but a change of pace is nice.
I know im not really the target audience for this, but i think it is a good format for me to play if i have to play against newer guys. Might even buy a mini-force for some other team to have ready to whip out if i have to play agaiants some one new. It should be a good way to learn the game imo, and way less tedious than battlebox/journeyman for us old guys.

Had a game, and enjoyed it. As a person whos been around the game for ages - without getting particularly good at it, mind - it was still fun, and a good way to try out some models I hadn't had a chance to play before. The tightly-centered scenario and the low pointcount meant that you really couldn't leave anything back safe unless it was accomplishing a specific goal.
Bearka2 was unable to get any mileage out of the cavalry rules, being mostly pinned to a 2" circle that kept both of his beasts in control. The bear mount was nonetheless frikkin amazing, and wins MVP for the evening. I had to clear and score a zone with my caster in a desperation move to avoid losing scenario, then got Rok into the Coven, and ended up needing to roll a 6 on my last unboosted damage roll to win by assassination; rolled a 4 and lost on scenario next turn. Fun game. I am not used to playing my caster so far forward, but it was necessary; every piece needed at that point level.

Remember to do best of 3s for each tournament round, that's probably my favorite part of Brawlmachine. A ton more games in a ton less time!

25 is really low actually. I would run this: War Room Army Trollblood - New Army Theme: Kriel Company 25 / 25 Army 0 / 10 Specialist Grissel Bloodsong, Marshal of the Kriels - WB: +27 - Dire Troll Bomber - PC: 17 (Battlegroup Points Used: 17) - Dire Troll Mauler - PC: 15 (Battlegroup Points Used: 10) Ledfoot & Tredz - PC: 7 General 'Thunderstone' Brug - PC: 4 Boomhowler, Solo Artist - PC: 0 Sons of Bragg - Wrathar, Tor & Rhudd: 9 THEME: Kriel Company --- Grissel delivery service, all very self reliable. Should be fun It's just hard to work around with the 15 points side bar that you get.
