Hi all, just wanted to ask if Warmachine & Hordes/Iron Kingdoms had loremasters of the sort that GW has in guys like Loremaster of Sotek, Baldemort & co.?
Is there much market for that sort of thing and how would people view perceived competition since I understand the audience would be much smaller?

I don't recognize those names; are you asking about real people or in-universe fictional characters? If it's the latter then No Quarter Magazine used to have pieces of lore written as reports from a spy - the Gavyn Kyle Files I think it was.

The guys I mentioned are YT lore content creators. I know and love the Gavyn Kyle Files, and know they make an excellent reference source.

House of Dice has done a video about the Orgoth rebellion, but I believe that's about it.

Gap to be filled, you think? sure, if you want to do it, nobody's stopping you. just don't expect to gain a massive following right off the bat. presentation matters, and it matters a lot, of course. House of Dice has very polished videos, and even then he's sitting at around 1500-ish followers last I checked. Consistency matters too, he posts vids only once every couple of months. ultimately it depends on what you're aiming for.

Warmachine simply doesn't have the amount of background material GW has.

That's really the bulk of it. GW properties have thousands upon thousands of fans, not just the table top games, but the fluff, the books, the art, the painters that buy models just to paint, the video games. You can have a 45 minute video about a single character or a minor group of characters and still only scratch the surface.
PP has a few thousand people that play the games, and even less that care for the tangential bits. PP also doesn't have many tangential bits, there was *never* a video game made about any of their properties. The lore that is released might give you 2-3 hours of content.
If you want to do a lot of work for minimal reward, go ahead and start a channel for PP.

To be fair, Warhammer covers two properties and is at least 2-3 times as old as Warmachine. Oddly enough, most of the lore of Warhammer didn't progress until the last few years, relatively speaking, so they continued to back fill the lore instead of creating new lore like Warmachine does. there was *never* a video game made about any of their properties. Come on, Warmachine Tactics wasn't great and is rather buggy, but I don't think it qualifies as *never*.

...The lore that is released might give you 2-3 hours of content... That's a pretty severe understatement. The RPG books have quite a lot of lore in the form of world-building, far more than a few hours worth of material. They aren't all adventure stories, but it's a lot of detail in the core books alone.

Games workshop has lore masters? Kidding me? They have so little knowledge about their setting its downright horrible. While their background actually became a bit more interesting, they always contradict older material. PP does have lore masters. They do contact them for anything that is released. If that stuff actually fits and so on. Sometimes they do little lore hangouts: m.youtube.com/watch?v=HmEa8a_HBj8Maybe I still misunderstood the meaning of the initial post?

I think he means the people who upload lore videos to youtube, not professional writers like Seacat.
