Hi all,
I'm pretty happy with my current Kallus2 Primal Terrors list, but am currently missing the warmonger war chief. I'd likely have to drop a forsaken and spell martyr to fit him in and am going back and forth on whether it's worth it. Thought I'd ask here for people's general thought on the model to help me out.
So, what do people think of the war chief?
Cheers, Dave

I always enjoy playing one, even without other ogruns. he could be a shield guard to be a more competitive requisition choice. I've found him to be quite nice with ethags though I struggle to fit him in my lists. I'm thinking of switching my twins to primal terrors (from ravens) to try them out with the mecshred. He make it into the list since the twins don't need forsakens, can't take attachment... so besides the 2 mamdatory hellmouths he's the only decent requisition choice. what's your list you're talking about ?

If you're running a unit of Warmongers, his stock goes up a lot. That +1 to attack rolls and being able to stop berserk count for more than you expect.

what's your list you're talking about ? My current list is: [Theme] Primal Terrors [Kallus 2] Kallus, Devastation of Everblight [+28] - Carnivean [18] - Carnivean [18] - Golab [17] - Mekanoshredder [4] - Ammok the Truthbearer [4] Spell Martyr [1] The Forsaken [4] The Forsaken [4] Blighted Ogrun Warmongers (max) [13] - Gorag Rotteneye [0(6)] Chosen of Everblight (max) [20] Hellmouth [0(6)] Hellmouth [0(6)] I like this set up a lot, just feel I'd like a tough melee solo in the mix. My current thought is remove a forsaken and spell martyr. Hopefully one forsaken can cover the fury help when needed, and with Ammok I find I need the spell martyr less than a theme with the succubus. Other option is to drop a hellmouth for him, but I'm pretty sure that's madness. Hmm... Looking at the list I could swap a carnivean for a seraph and drop the spell martyr..? Cheers, Dave

I find your list ok bg-wise. I'd probably drop forsaken+martyr if I wanted to include a warchief, though I'm not sure he would bring much to the list as-is. You already hit fairly well with thoses ogruns so the main benefit would be blood drinker on the mongers, which is not always really necessary. He could fill the role of scoring solo though, and cleanup jammers in a pinch. I don't know, I feel your list would be better balanced without him.

I just played the list with seraph and war chief instead of carnivean and spell martyr into Helga2. Actually really liked it!
But yeah the war chief didn't add much except camping a flag. High priority target, so died early on.
Will have to keep trying both set ups to decide what I like most!
Cheers, Dave

kallus2 is actually one of those warlocks that could do without paying the heavy 14pts slipstream tax, and just take the mekshred.
he already has overrun as his main threat extender and the extra 2" on those assassination runs less good than the free charge.
on the other hand, full steam gives him free charges outside of his feat, and can be spammed on more models on the feat turn to make a lot of them charge at +5".
I'm actually reconsidering my lists with him, by replacing the seraph with mekshreds and freeing some much needed points

I played the list with the seraph and war chief instead of carnivean and spell martyr again, and really liked it. Played into Vyros2 with 7 griffons and 2 tridents and won by assassination.
Comment made in both games was that my opponent struggled with the high threat ranges I could bring. Between Overrun, Full Steam, Slipstream and the feat there's a lot of movement options they have to try to deal with.
However I'm going to keep experimenting and will next try swapping the seraph for a max unit of rotwings and 2 spell martyrs. I am starting to lean towards the seraph though.
Cheers, Dave
