I’m excited for this, Bethayne is a favourite of mine - even if I haven’t made her work in this current version.
For the souls question, this is a far fetched theory but maybe Everblight is trying to take a new path to greater power. Since the last attempt to get an athanc didn’t work he’s trying to ascend before taking on more dragons (kind of like Barnibus...)

I am very much looking forward to all of this. The lore with the infernal stuff was a big question mark with how big E responds. I didn't expect "I'll make my own... with blackjack and hookers!"
As far as Everblight caring for souls... he may just think "these are mine and you can't have them"? The notion that he may have found a way to use them to ascend isn't bad either. He definitely needs a new play after missing the last athanc.
The new models have me curious with possibilities. Both lore and play options.
Mind you... I would love to see quite a few of our older models (lessers, nephs, etc.) to be revamped but I don't think they'll fall in the scope of this CID with (potentially) so many new models.

I was afraid PP forgot about Legion altogether.
Lets see what Blight Archon will bring.
I hope for a new huge base model somewhere in there. Also a new char beast, I think Kallus is due one.
Note, it will be out in fall, so 7+ months away.

I'd like to see in the dynamic update that's supposed to come first - - the elastic animus added somewhere. Legion is the mutation faction, they deserve rng2 once in a while. - nyss units updated. Especially legionnaires. Archer UA should have bigger range for ammo porter. Oh and especially legionnaires. Maybe one less points on each UA. Scather crews need something bad as well. Did I mention legionnaires? - rework of the lights and lessers. I personally feel that they need more than just a tweak, other than the bloodseer, naga, and bolt thrower. - heavies probably just need point adjustments here and there. - lylyth2 gets witchmark. Lylyth3 gets some sort of way to "shoot" her spray aka if she kill a model she can use it as orgin of spray. I'm being greedy bout lylyth3 - make the pot viable again. - make archangel 34 points. Mebbe add crit freeze? I dunno this thing is paper mache one game and a literal monster the next.
Just my 2 cents

I was unaware of a Dynamic Update - when is that slotted? There has been lots of posts about what we (me ) would like to see updated. I would need to reorganize my thoughts on such a prospect - that may be best suited for a different thread that has a target date? Directly concerning what new stuff could bring, bringing us back closer to the OP... First... what are Archons and what do they do? I've seen them but I've been disconnected of from the lore. They fight the Infernals who have come back to reap human souls due to a pack that 'everyone' signed in exchange for magic? And the Grymkin are a thing to cull magic users to prevent that? Are they out of a job now? Back to Legion The only thing I know I want to see is a Blight Blade UA - they need the love and that model could be awesome. It will be interesting to see what a 'Blighted Archon' actually is. Oh - what a bout a blighted choir!?

I wouldn't get my hopes too high regarding rework of current models. They just allude to several model getting changes, not a complete faction rework. Based on what as done for the Trolls, I don't expect to see all our current un-performing models corrected. Archons are divine manifestations sent to fight the infernals. Each god/natural power is sending/creating heroes to represent them in the fight and help their followers, if I understood correctly. Some of them (think menith or void Archons) juste have more more MORE powerfull rules than the other (think primal archons), with lots of place shenanigans of 4 dies attack rolls, compared to... being tanky~ish I guess. But then, some gods are better than others. And Everblight kinda always sucked at playing god Grymkins are just very powerful heroes who rebelled against the gods in ancient times and where banned because of it. The old witch freed them and enrolled them (she hopes) to fight the infernals, but aside from both wanting souls of mortals (in fluff not in game), they aren't really natural ennemies I think ? Honestly the fluff currently is quite meh. Lots of new stuff gets thrown it and added randomly, and old contenders like the dragons, and especially Toruk, appear to just sit there and watch happily. After all the build up on the big Cryx invasion of the last ark, no news on the undead side of things.

Archons are not more powerful than one another, simply differently able, IMO. They are all 8 pt large base solos that do more than a light beast, not to mention possible synergies. Cant wait to se what EB Archon does, although Thamar Archon would have been a good fit for us too (abilities wise, not fluffwise).
Good question about Grymkin. I suppose the Heretic is still ticked off against Menoth so he is more of a threat vs Khadorans and Sul-Menites. The others just want not to be messed with which will put them in the path of Infernals quite quickly. In the fluff Old Witch made an assessment that only the addition of Grymkin armies will be enough to fight off the Infernals.
I also want to see fluff on Legion vs Infernals, as we are the faction that can most easily retreat into wilderness and wait this out, there has to be some interesting story on what sucks the Legion into this conflict.

Also, the Archons being angels, and Legion already has a strong angelic theme... maybe a Nephilim for a Blight Archon? Incorporeal Nephilim?

well let's just say I've seen a lot more menoth lists with double archons than lists with double primal archons anywhere. and it's not like they dont already have awesome (free) solos before, so it must they something that they're willing to pay 15pts for those. In fact there is already some trouble to buy the menith archons here, while primal and duhnian are sitting on shelves...
anyway i don't see us getting incorporeal or undead models like, ever. we're the faction of the living soulless momstruosities. I just hope our archon will have a lot of tentacles. and a place effect. would be fun if he was something akin to a spell slave too, but that's just random wishlisting. also the angels unit could have spells. that would help make them different from all our flying stuff, and it could help buff up oracles a little...

Thanks for the info! Yea, I'm not as up on the current lore as maybe I should be. As you said - the dragons don't have a lot of stake in this conflict... though it would be fun if they had a reason (especially Cryx?).

At least 2 dragons, that I know of, actively try to rules over mortals, and thus should intervene actively against Infernals intruding on their turf. Everblight and Toruk. The other ones arguably don't bother much with mortals so as long as Infernals don't attack them directly, they might not give an actual damn. But Toruk/Cryx with their world-domination and soul-collection ambitions, should be at the forefront of the anti-Infernal fight. It would bridge nicely with the previous narrative arc, which saw lots of Cryx extension on mainland Immoren... I see the return of Infernals more as fan service and commercial decision (yet another mini-faction with few models and compatible with existing ones), than as a thoughtfull narrative developpement.

The Blight Archon should be a nice surprise. Dhunian and Primal Archons look a lot like their god essences, while being distinct enough to not be confused with warbeasts. Maybe we get a crystal entity (as in, a close duplicate of the Athanc crystal like the ones in Spell Martyr chest?)
I cannot even speculate on the Virtues. A whole new species, that may or may not be related to the existing ones. Maybe copies of the soulless creature Kallus found in chambers of cult of Pyromalfic?
And finally, eBeth. Did she upgrade Belphagor to large base? Maybe she hits the tabletop with three wearable beasts, one shooty, one for melee, and one that boosts her magic?
A lot to look forward to here.
